Riga, Latvia October 14, 2014
LLP LDV Transfer of Innovation Project „Q-Placements” 2013-1-LV1-LEO05-05342
VET-Enterprise Cooperation for Quality Assurance of VET Placements
Drawbacks: implementation stage
“ ….employees very reticence to have students with them, because they have to lose time explaining and second because they feel their jobs in danger..” “ … other employees felt nervous when they saw that Leila and mainly Mar were even better than them..” ………
Good practices: implementation stage
• “every week the company tutor entered to the application …to evaluate the implementation of the task according to the activity plan and the results were agreed by the VET training centre..”
• “ ..the school tutor checked the progress of placement once in two weeks..”
• “…during the placement the student was provided with all necessary tools and equipment”
Good practices: implementation stage
‘… the placement progress was described in the placement journal…by student”

What advice/ s you could give to the VET to ensure QWP?
Students: How to make most out of internship?
• internship is the best time to prove to your managers that you’re the right choice
• even if you don’t get a job straight away, you can still build up contacts for later down the track
• dress appropriately • watch the language you use• do NOT get drunk at the welcome
Students: How to make most out of internship?
• plan exactly what you want to get out of it; • be firm, but not demanding (they might not give you much “real
work,” but at least you can let them know which types of roles you want to oversee).
• try to set up brief weekly catch-ups with your manager so you can update them on your progress or flag any concerns you have;
• be social, but don’t share too much personal experience; • don’t come with problems, come with solutions:Source: http://www.levo.com/articles/career-advice/how-make-most-of-your-summer-internship
