Outline (3) Initial and basic settings by the wizards The wizards enable you to set the basic features of the ETERNUS DX60 S2 by
following the given instructions
System status General status of the system
Advanced system configuration For example: Defining Hot Spares, RAID migration, setting up Eco-mode
etc.
Checking the extent of a failure If a disk drive failure occurs, this function provides additional diagnostics
information helping to understand how widespread the consequences are • For example, which Volumes, LUNs and Host ports are being affected
Easy operation If a hardware failure is detected, the system administrator can receive an email
containing the detected fault information

Volume Management (1) The Create Volume function creates Volumes in existing RAID
Groups Open Data Volume or Snap Data Volume (SDV) can be created with this
function
After completing the Volume creation, the new Volumes are formatted automatically Maximal number of Volumes that can be set per RAID Group 1024 in total, 128 per RAID Group
Volumes can be accessed by the Host after LUN mapping has been done

Configure LUN Mapping The Configure LUN Mapping function sets the relationship
between a Logical Unit Number (LUN) and a Volume number LUN mapping enables the server access to the Volumes in the
ETERNUS DX60 S2 The maximal number of WWNs and Affinity Groups varies
depending on the overall system configuration Prerequisites for the Host Affinity function Host Affinity must be enabled at least on one Host port At least one server must be connected to a port for which Host Affinity is
enabled
Up to 512 LUNs can be mapped
22
Configure LUN Mapping with Affinity (1) Following parameters can be set here LUN Mapping Affinity Group Port connected to the server Specific information (WWN for HBA) for the server to access the Affinity
Group
An "Affinity Group" defines which server(s) can access which LUNs Multiple Affinity Groups
can be created
