Course structure

1. There are 14 courses in the programme – 7 courses in Term I and 7 courses in Term II.

2. In addition, participants are advised to attend sessions in campus in Joka spread over 5 days.

Courses-Term I

Courses-Term II

(7 courses)• Behavioral Science• Marketing Management • Human Resource Management• Operations Management• Corporate Finance• Information Technology • Strategic Management

Evaluation

• Participants are evaluated on the basis of examinations for all the courses.

• Participants will be given any one of the following grades:

“Excellent”; “Good”; “Average”; or “Poor.”

Make up examinations

Will be held towards the end of the programme to give the participants who were absent in the original examination an opportunity to complete the course.

In such cases, for grades above the “Average” grade, the grade will be adjusted one grade lower,

i.e., the grade of a participant getting “Excellent” grade in the make up examination will be adjusted downwards to “Good” and “Good” grade will be downgraded to “Average” grade.

Grade improvement

• A participant who has obtained “Poor” grade in any course will also be eligible to sit for such make-up examination to improve his/her grade.

• In such cases, for grades above the “Average” grade, the grade will be adjusted one grade lower

Certification

Participants will be awarded either a

“Certificate of Successful Completion” or a

“Certificate of Participation”

Certificate of Successful Completion

“Certificate of Successful Completion” will be awarded to the participant who fulfills the following criteria:

a) Has at least 66% attendance in each course of the programme

b) Has appeared in all the examinationsc) Has obtained “Poor” grade in not

more than two courses.

Certificate of Participation

• A “Certificate of Participation” will be awarded to the participant who has failed to satisfy the above conditions.

• However, if any participant has not appeared for all the examinations, his/her result will be treated as “Incomplete”.

• The rules on Dropout will apply in case of “incomplete” candidates.

Drop out

In case a participant fails to complete the programme with the current batch, he/she will be given the opportunity to complete the programme with one of the next two batches after paying the requisite fee, provided the programme is offered at that time.

If a participant fails to complete the programme even in next two batches, his/her registration will automatically get cancelled.

Drop out

• Participants may have to pay a processing fee to join the next batch

• Grades from courses done in the earlier course are carried over to the next batch

• Only remaining courses can be taken in the next batch. Courses already completed in which grades have been obtained cannot be taken again.

Archives

• Archives of the lecture sessions may be made available for participants absent in that lecture.

Use of unfair means

Copying in any form in any examination will be considered as an act of indiscipline.

The institute will initiate serious disciplinary action, including debarring the participant from the programme in case a participant is found guilty.

In such cases the fees paid will not be refunded.

Placement assistance

Placement assistance is not provided to the participants of any Long Duration Programmes (LDP)

Alumni status

• All participants of LDP, who receive a successful completion certificate, will enjoy alumni status. They may be called alumni of IIMC-MDP.

Yahoo group

• A yahoo group will be created by the programme coordinator, IIMC.

• All the participants are required to join the yahoo group

• All course materials will be uploaded through the yahoo group

• All announcements will be made through the yahoo group

• For programme related matters, participants may communicate with each other through the yahoo group.

Campus visit

• A 5 day programme will be held in the Joka campus of the Institute during April-June, 2012 (dates to be announced later).

• Participants are strongly advised to attend the campus programme.

• During the campus programme, participants will be required to stay at the IIMC campus. Board and lodging will be arranged by IIMC and a fee will be charged.

Academic Discipline

All participants must strictly abide by the rules of academic discipline and behaviour particularly during lecture sessions and during examinations. (See the Programme Information Handbook).
