ENERGY RESOURCES Energy producing resources are called

energy resources There are 2 kinds of energy resources 1)Renewable energy resources 2)Nonrenewable energy resources

ENERGY RESOURCES

RENEWABLE NON RENEWABLE

TYPES OF ENERGY RESOURCES

RENEWABLE NON RENEWABLE

•SOLAR ENERGY •WIND ENERGY•TIDEL ENERGY•BIOMASS•HYDRO POWER•HYDROGEN•GEOTHERMAL ENERGY

•COAL•PETROAL•DIESEL•KEROSINE•NATURAL GAS•NAPHTHA•NUCLEAR ENERGY

RENEWABLE ENERGY RESOURCES Renewable energy is energy from natural

resources such as sunlight ,wind, rain, tidelwaves, geothermal heat.

Renewable energy resources are natural resources which can replenish with the passage of time, either through biological reproduction or other naturally recurring processes.

1) SOLAR ENERGY It is the most abundant & easily available

renewable resource. In one year ,the sun delivers more than

10,000 times the energy that humans currently use .

WIND ENERGY

Wind power is the conversion of the wind energy into useful form of energy.Wind power is generated by converting the rotation of turbine blades into electrical currents by means of an electrical generator.

HYDRO POWERIt is energy derived from the movement of water In rivers & oceans originally used for irrigation & the operation of various mechanical devices.Conventional hydro electric power involves creating a dam and using the resulting water force to turn a water turbine &generator.

GEOTHERMAL ENERGY It comes from

the earth’s crust & originates from the original formation of the planet (20%) & from radioactive decay of minerals(80%).The available energy from the earth’s crust and mantle is approximately equal to that of incoming solar energy.A geothermal power plant is shown.

BIOMASS Biomass is all biologically produced

matter based in carbon,hydregon,oxygen.

Biomass energy is derived from 6 distinct energy sources-garbage wood, plants waste, landfill gases& alcohol fuels.

BIOGAS It is methane produced by the process of

anaerobic digestion of organic material by anaerobes

NON-RENEWABLE RESOURCES A non-renewable resource (also

called a finite resource) is a resource that does not renew itself at a sufficient rate for sustainable economic extraction in meaningful human time-frames. An example is carbon-based, organically-derived fuel. The original organic material, with the aid of heat and pressure, becomes a fuel such as oil or gas. Fossil fuels (such as coal, petroleum, and  natural gas and certain aquifers are all non-renewable resources

COAL•Coal is traditionally liquid upon as the most typical fossil fuel.•Today coal is primarily used for energy &coke production.•It is a non renewable energy resource.

NATURAL GAS It reserves in proven deposites, suitable

for economically profitable extraction. At present it deposits at the depth of 100 meters to 9.15 km’s.

NUCLEAR ENERGY The use of nuclear technology requires

a radioactive fuel. Uranium ore is present in the ground at relatively low concentrations and minedin 19 countries.[3] This mined uranium is used to fuel energy-generating nuclear reactors with fissionable uranium-235 which generates heat that is ultimately used to power turbines to generate electricity.[4]

NUCLEAR POWER PLANT

CONCLUSION We should protect all the natural energy

resources and try to utilize at the maximum ,practically adopt the energy conservation in our day to day life.
