Here is where we produce bibliographies--easily. EndNote does the driving we simply tell it where to go. We will also open a Word document and insert intext citations and Reference Notes according to the APA Style guidelines. And, we'll explore how to change that style to a different style--easily.

Review of EndNote I Session

What to Remember:

1. Open EndNote and Your EndNote Library

2. Search for articles in a database

3. Mark the articles you want to use

4. Export the citations to EndNote Library

Time for research1. Open EndNote library

2. Go to KU Libraries Homepage http://www.lib.ku.edu

3. Click Articles and Databases from the index in the left hand column

4. Select an individual database that fits your research needs

Send selected references from EndNote to a file to be opened as a bibliography in Word

1. Select the library in EndNote2. Select output style (APA, MLA,etc.)3. Select the references to be printed as

bibliography– select all if you want to print all– select specified citations to print fewer

4. Select Print5. Smile

Select (Ctrl Click) the citations you want and Print.

Exporting Bibliographies from EndNote1. Open: EndNote library2. Select: output style (APA)3. Highlight: references to be exported to Word4. From EndNote Click: File and then Click: Export5. RTF extension: Select Rich Text File (RTF) as the

filename extension 6. Name File: example filename, networking.rtf 7. Save In: any folder you want 8. .rtf files can be opened in Word9. Open or Insert this as a Word file10.Select “Edit Bibliography”from Word’s endnote file

Use the Cite While You Write commands in Word and EndNote to insert references from your EndNote Library into a Word document.

1. In Word, place the cursor where you want the in-text reference to be insertedbe sure to leave a space after the last letter before inserting the citation.

2. From the EndNote toolbar in Word, click Go to EndNote

OR Select Tools CWYW on pull down menu Insert Selected Citation

You can format the Word bibliography from EndNote under TOOLS, CWYW, Format Bibliography

This is where I titled the bib and selected line spacing to agree with APA

Select Endnote X3 from Word and Format Bibliography to give Word the instructions for the bibliography sent from the Endnote program.
