At Boundary Oak we are committed in providing your child with the best understanding of potential educational pathways and future careers. As part of our commitment to prepare pupils for a rapidly changing world, we are delighted to announce that we are using an innovative online resource called Start!
Start will help your child connect with their future career potential, develop their employability and help them to explore future career and study options at school or at home.
If your child is currently in our senior school they will be setting up their personal accounts in the next couple of weeks, allowing them the opportunity to log on when and where they like in order to fi ne tune their career pathways.

Years 3 and 4 went on a visit to Butser Ancient Farm this week to explore the chronology of the lifestyle and homes from the Bronze Age, Iron Age and Romans. They took part in activities such as Roman maths, chalk carving, ‘wattling’ (building a wattle ‘fence’ which would have stood as such or indeed become a framework of a house), and Iron Age jewellery-making (rings, ear cuffs or even a nose adornment!)
They also saw the Roman loos, which were often used during communal chat time or even while playing a game!

They unfortunately did not get through to the next round, however this was Boundary Oak School’s fi rst time entering the competition and the judges’ feedback was extremely positive, saying that the Boundary Oak team was one of the strongest

This week Little Acorns have continued with their ‘Recycling’ topic, and have done some more great sorting activities.
They have also been looking at size, and the children have done really well ordering items by size, from smallest to biggest. The mud kitchen has been busy, and the children were excited to fi nd
sheets of ice in the saucepans. Their mark-making is going from strength to strength, and the teachers are so proud that so many children are starting to form recognisable letters, and write their own names!
Reception have been learning all about animals this half term. For their art project they had to design and make their own imaginary pet. They followed their designs to construct them out of junk modelling materials and then painted and decorated them.
They then got to name them and take them home. Look after them well, Reception!
In Maths this week, Year 1 have been counting in 2s and 5s. They created their own classroom resource by making and ordering socks and gloves to aid them with their counting throughout the rest of the term!

En FrancaisLittle Acorns are learning their colours in French with Mme
Atkins this half term, and have enjoyed listening to ‘Ours Brun, Dis-Moi…’ by Eric Carl. They had fun recognising the colours in
the story and fi nding the right colour for each animal!
Match Report“On a sunny and cold Monday afternoon, the Boundary Oak
School U13A Rugby team travelled to the Mayville sports ground. It was a close game with good attacking and tack-ling from both teams, and at half time it was 5 – 2 to us. The
Boundary Oak School tries came from excellent handling skills and attacking play from the whole squad, which was fi nished off by Shaun H., Owen L., James M. and Charlie H. The fi nal
whistle blew- we had played well and it was a tough game but the fi nal score was 8 – 7 to Boundary Oak School! Well done
to the whole team and thank you to Mr Davis for being our coach.”
