Qualifications Hierarchy
• Hierarchy of uclan Degree Codes recorded in STVDEGC_LEVEL_ONE field (not shown on Form)
• HESA hierarchy of HEQs recorded in SKASSDT
• Process assesses the student’s Qualification Aim (SORLCUR_DEGC_CODE) against her/his HEQ (SKBHINS_SSDT_CODE_QUAL) using their hierarchy values
For 200809 we made the collection of a Highest Entry Qualification mandatory as part of the OnLine enrolment process.
The ELQ process is triggered, along with fee assessment by this action so the higher fee can be displayed during the online enrolment process.

Reporting
• HEFCE/HESA• Fees reporting • ODS changes
– New views• AZ_ELQ_HIERARCHY• AZ_STUDENT_INSTANCE_YEAR
– Amended views• AZ_PROGRAMME_TERM_DETAIL
– OWB ETL Mappings
Issues
• Lack of clarity from HESA on Qualifications Hierarchy e.g. Masters
• Last minute changes in exemption rules• Suitability of HESA HEQ hierarchy• Exempt Regulatory Bodies currently hard-
coded in process
Future Plans
• Develop mechanism to advise Enquirers & Applicants of Funding Status and Fees
• Alterations to reflect revised uclan policy for 2009/10
• Review hierarchies to ensure appropriateness
• Develop table/form to facilitate user maintenance of exempt Regulatory Bodies
