Elements are building blocks of

substances.

Everything is made up from elements.

Atoms of same element are alike while

atoms of different elements are different.

Example: atoms of Copper are different

than atoms of Iron.

When 2 or more elements mix together in

fixed proportion.

Energy is supplied or given out in the

formation of compound.

Properties of compound is different than

constituent elements.

Constituent elements are not gained by

simple process.

H2O molecule is shown in the above pic.

When 2 or more elements or 2 or more

compounds mixed in any proportion.

Original substances retain their own

properties.

Original substances can be obtained by

simple physical process.
