Does Your Vehicle Need Transmission Fluid Change?

To Ensure Vehicle Reliability ,there’s always a need to use Technologically advanced Transmission Fluid

For getting a smooth driving experience ,Make sure to add right transmission oil that will provide you a smooth operation ….

Many Transmission Fluid doesn’t need to change until 100,000 miles

Some Specific Transmission Like Ford need To change After 150,000miles

As per professional Mechanics It should be done at least every 50,000 miles

Why Transmission Fluid Need To Change …????

Like Other Vital automotive Fluids, Transmission fluid also deteriorate gradually.

Hard Use----: Frequent stop-and-go city driving Hauling heavy loads Trailer towing……….These all causes increase the deterioration rate of Transmission fluid

Problem in shifting gears : You find too quick or too late gear shifting in automatic transmission but in manual transmission vehicle it takes too hard for changing gear.

The old transmission fluid also causes gear slipping problem as the percentage of dirt and sludge are increasing day-by-day

Surging Problem in Vehicle : As the transmission is full of dirt and sludge, it blocks the adequate transmission fluid flow that make the vehicle to surge.

Transmission Fluid also causes delay in vehicle movement when you starts the vehicle ..

How To Check Transmission Fluid Level..??

Step -1 Park Your car in ground Level and off all moving elements like fans, fan belts, pulleys etc

Step-2

Start the engine and don’t off till you finish your work

Hold the brake and slowly move the shifter to bring the engine and transmission into normal temperature.

Carefully open the hood : It’s usually located in the left hand side of the cockpit . Check with your owner’s manual if unable to find.

Check The Transmission Fluid Pipe: In many cars the transmission fluid pipe will be labeled, But still you can consult with owner’s manual

Find The Transmission Fluid Dipstick :

Dipstick location is different as per vehicle types: 1 . On rear-wheel drive : Dipstick is usually locates above the oil reservoir. 2. On front –wheel Drive : Dipstick is located in front of the engine and connected to the transaxle

In most Cars : Dipstick is located near to the right of the oil reservoir.

Pull out the Transmission Fluid Dipstick

There are 2 levels you found while checking the transmission fluid : 1. Full and Add 2. Hot and Cold

Points to Note :

How To know that Transmission fluid need change…????

Make sure to change the transmission fluid immediately if the color change to deep brown and smells like toast , if not it can damage your transmission itself.

Go for one time visit to your mechanic If the fluid looks milky brown indicating a leak in radiator.

If the Transmission fluid looks foamy or bubbles coming out, then wrong transmission fluid might be used. Check with Mechanic to be sure about it.

Add the Transmission Fluid: Run the car and use all gear levels to know the transmission is working properly.
