Let me take you to my Imaginary World

• A small beautiful village in Nepal

Hospitality In Nepal

“Nepal Hotel” was the first hotel that was established in 1951 in Jawalakhel, Patan.

Later “Royal Hotel” was established in “Seto Durbar” 1951 by the Russianbusinessman Mr. Boris Lisanevich.

Then chronologically In 1952 “Paras Hotel” and in 1954 “Snow View Hotel” wereestablished.

The first purposely established hotel was “Hotel Coronation” in 1956 at Bagbazar.

At present there are many hotels that run through International chain operation.These are the in which individual owner merge themselves to large internationalchain such as Radisson, Marriott, Sheeraton, Hyatt, Hilton etc.

Hospitality Education started in Nepal with the establishment of Nepal Academy ofTourism & Hotel Management (NATHM) on 1972 and then this educationflourished.

• Young people are too much in the class room– We need to take them out and show them the real world

• Quality of education has so far been unable to keep

up with the changes and evolution the industry has

gone through

– Unless we are able to sync academic learning with these changes, businesses won’t be able to bring in better talents

– Providing an education that is relevant to the industry is the key

• Today it is important for education and businessesnot to set boundaries saying local or internationalcontext

• For education and businesses not to act in isolationwhich is a traditional approach

• Rather to set a global mindset with no boundaries
