In my displays I often incorporate students work and ideas to encourage ownership and a sense of community in the library.

Every term many displays reflect and reinforce the teaching programme. Here we showcase some of Year 5’s poetry from their writing unit.

Displays are used to encourage staff participation in library goals. Here we highlight teaching and non-teaching staffs’ favourite books and soon noticed increased borrowing in a number of the books highlighted.

Displays are used to highlight cultural awareness.

And increase awareness in events happening inside the school, outside in their immediate community and around the world.

But most of all we want the students to read and to enjoy reading and to regard their library as a welcoming and magical place!
