Queen Elizabeth II gave her the prize of The Most Excellent Order of the British Empire in 1971. She died on 12 January 1976. All in all, most people know her books and enjoy reading them nowadays.

she went to her bedroom. She opened her

jewellery box. She looked for her gold

necklace, but she couldn’t find it. She

called the police soon.

Ms. Camay was a rich woman and

she lived alone. She never got

married. She was in her sixties.

She was proud and selfish. She

was always fashionable. She liked

wearing expensive clothes and

jewellery.

She had a best friend. Her name was

Sandra Orson. She was an old and

single woman, too. She wasn’t rich.

She was a hairdresser. Ms. Camay met

her in the hairdresser’s. She loved her

because shewas very nice to her. She

was shy and hard-working. When Ms.

Camay was bored, she went to the

hairdresser’s.

One morning Sandra’s phone rang

loudly. It was Ms. Camay and she was

very unhappy. When Sandra got to

Ms. Camay’s house, Ms. Camay

accused Sandra of stealing her

necklace. Unfortunately, the police

found the necklace in Sandra’s

handbag. They found Sandra’s

fingerprints and footprints in Ms.

Camay’s house too.So, they arrested

her and they took her to prison
