ESTUDIS UNIVERSITARIS PROFESSIONALITZADORSProfessionally-Oriented University Studies
The ERAM University School was founded in 1998 to address society’s educational needs in the field of visual and performing arts.
At that time, the school’s founders perceived the need for new university studies in audiovisual communication clearly geared towards the professional sector as a response to the technological and social changes of the 21st century.
Today it is unanimously accepted that globalisation and technology have changed forever the knowledge society, the distribution channels and models of digital content, and the possibility of applying this knowledge in previously unimagined innovative contexts.
In this scenario, the ERAM has designed a training proposal firmly committed to innovation and cutting-edge technologies, catering for the Web 3.0 generation of students while meeting the new challenges posed by a global market changing at breakneck speed.
To achieve this, the school employs a specialist teaching team composed of active professionals who channel all their experience, professional relations and commitment through an educational model aimed at developing free, independent, creative and responsible individuals with an ability to reflect critically and confidently on their environment.
Thanks to the combination of the aspects described above, a commitment
to the productive and territorial area of Girona and Catalonia, and the internationalisation of our students, this university school is ready to meet the challenges of a future that is already upon us.
The ERAM University School is attached to the University of Girona (UdG) and offers three types of qualifications:
· University degree: Degree in Audiovisual and Multimedia Communication (DAMC)
· Master’s degrees
· Specialisation diplomas and courses
The quality of our studies complies with the standards established by the AQU (Catalan University Quality Assurance Agency). This agency certifies the quality of the methodology and content of our training programme.
The quality indicator valued most highly by the ERAM is the high percentage of labour market insertion of its students and the early professional recognition that they obtain. The satisfaction of the companies and institutions that hire the school’s students is a great incentive to remain firmly committed to a professionally-oriented educational model.
The ERAM completes its educational offering with the periodical scheduling of professionally-oriented workshops.

means of expression and the appropriate ethical and aesthetic training.
On completing their studies, graduates have the skills to create audiovisual products from start to finish. In this respect, following the sequential order of the creation process of any audiovisual communication product (from the conception of the idea and the application of tools and techniques to the expressive transmission of the message), the students are capable of:
· coming up with ideas and developing them creatively through a narrative presentation of the proposal
· planning the production of the project
· using the available technical resources
· creating the expressive and artistic content
· producing the audiovisual work
· disseminating the final work
The Degree in Audiovisual and Multimedia Communication (DAMC), an official qualification of the University of Girona, is aimed at producing professionals with a multidisciplinary profile attractive to certain strategic sectors of the audiovisual industry in the context of new demands; professionals such as multimedia designers, audiovisual producers and directors of audiovisual and multimedia projects.
Interactivity with mobile phones, digital television, the Internet, 3D film and virtual reality has become a fixture in today’s society.
On graduating, the school’s students are capable of working in the field of multimedia and audiovisual communication. This requires consolidating an interdisciplinary mentality due to the wide variety of actions involved in the use of cutting-edge technologies, the knowledge of

1 Because this professional sector is still growing. You will be working in a strong sector that is withstanding the economic crisis extremely well and maintains a significant growth rate.
2 Because the cross-media profile offers several career opportunities. You will be able to opt for all sorts of jobs in audiovisual and multimedia communication, or in related specialist sectors such as video games, advertising, film, photography, etc.
Because you can obtain a double degree (top-up). You may complete a fifth year at a university in the UK or in Denmark.
4 Because we have all the necessary technology and infrastructures. The new headquarters of the ERAM (the Coma-Cros Culture Factory), the Science and Technology Park, the Bloom centre for 3D and cutting-edge technology, and the business incubator in Salt, among others, are perfectly suited to meet the needs of very demanding studies in this respect.
Because we are pioneers in multimedia education. The ERAM University School, founded in 1998, has been teaching audiovisual and multimedia communication as a standalone qualification since 2001 and as an official university degree course since 2009.
6Because our teaching staff are experts. Our teaching team is made up of active professionals who are experts in audiovisual communication.
7 Because our courses are multidisciplinary and cross-cutting. They incorporate various disciplines related to audiovisual communication (audiovisual creation, graphic design, multimedia, photography, etc.).
8 Because we attach a lot of importance to creativity. Our study plan devotes 200 teaching hours (20 credits) to fostering creativity.
9 Because they are professionally-oriented university programmes. They combine theory and practice from day one.
10Because we keep class sizes down. We restrict the available number of places to offer quality teaching and a personalised support for each student.

Double degreeDouble degree
Top-up: your internationalisationOne of the main goals of the ERAM University School is to facilitate the professional success of our students. Internationalisation plays a key role in this process. Over the course of fifteen years at the service of our students we have learned that their internationalisation enables them to find better tools and obtain better salaries.
That is why we offer our graduates the option of completing a fifth year (4+1). They can obtain a double degree by completing a top-up in various universities in the UK and Denmark.
1 Specialisation:The 4+1 formula enables students to complete specialised studies in a professional branch that will eventually provide the student with career opportunities. This option completes the general Audiovisual and Multimedia Communication courses.
2 Obtaining a double degree:On completing their Degree in Audiovisual and Multimedia Communication, students may choose to directly enter the third year of various bachelor degree courses in Great Britain and, therefore, obtain an official double degree in the specialisation of their choice.
Life experience:Obviously, spending a year in another country with its own society and culture is a great life experience that helps us to grow as people.
4 Language competency:A top-up also offers students a wonderful opportunity to perfect their English thanks to their full immersion in an English-speaking environment. This aspect is crucial for developing a career in the cutting-edge audiovisual and multimedia sector.
What are the advantages of a top-up?
