Second Collection to benefit the programs and services of
Catholic Charities in the Archdiocese of Santa Fe
Archbishop John C. Wester has
approved an annual Second Collection to benefit the
programs and services of Catholic Charities of the
Archdiocese of Santa Fe on August 18th and 19th.
Funding from this important second collection will support
vital, ongoing programs serving our community through a
wide spectrum of services including bilingual early
childhood education, adult basic education classes, refugee
support, low-cost immigration and citizenship legal
services, self-sufficiency and housing assistance, free
senior transportation, and a food pantry.
Catholic Charities in the Archdiocese of Santa Fe has
served the community for more than 70 years and remains
dedicated to finding solutions to some of the most pressing
social challenges individuals, children and families face
regardless of race, religion, country of origin, disabilities,
age or sexual orientation.
We will have a second collection following the regular
collection. If you write a check, please make it out to
EVCP and write “Catholic Charities” on the memo line. Catholic Charities envelopes are provided at the back of
the church for your donation.
Together, Let us Pray (for people hospitalized/homebound and unable to attend
Mass)
Altar Server training
Father Lancaster is encouraging those parishioners (all
ages) who have received the Sacrament of First
Communion to participate in the ministry of Altar Server.
Altar Server training is scheduled for Sunday,
September 9th, following the 10:00 a.m. Mass at Our
Lady of Mount Carmel Church. All new and current
Altar Servers (who have their Sacrament of First Holy
Communion and especially those children who have just
received their First Eucharist) are invited to attend. For
more information, contact Matthew.
Father Kimani will be on vacation through September 7th. We will have regularly scheduled
Masses during his absence.
Our parish has purchased a
building in Edgewood near Saint
Elizabeth Ann Seton Church to
serve as a hall, meeting, and
activities place for the entire
parish. This is a big undertaking and serves a need,
especially in the northwest area of the parish. We are
taking a loan from the Archdiocese to help pay for it. The
money in the Building Fund envelopes will go towards
paying off the loan and expenses for the building. In
addition, we are asking for donations to help with startup
costs. I believe this project will help us serve the parish in
new and better ways. May God bless it, bless all who
donate, and bless our whole parish. Thank you. Fr.
Lancaster

Parish Volunteers,
I would like to express my sincere thanks for giving of
your time and talent to the parish. Volunteers in all
ministries are essential to having a vital and spiritual
parish.
We have been notified by the Archdiocese of Santa Fe,
that of our 341 volunteers/employees, we have 185
volunteers who have updated their Abuse Awareness
Training Certification. The Archdiocese of Santa Fe is
concerned that we still have many volunteers who need
to update their certification in order to be in
compliance with the Archdiocesan policy (it must be
updated every 5 years). I am asking that if you are one of
the many volunteers who need to update your certification,
please comply before we have to restrict your ministry. If
you are unsure if this applies to you, please feel free to call
the parish office (832-6655) and we will check your status.
Below you will find the information you need to
complete the Abuse Awareness Training. Thank you.
