Approval for Re-Structuringof NSDF and NSDCl The Union Cabinet approved the
proposal for restructuring of National
Skill Development Fund (NSDF) and

Corporation (NSDC) on April 1, 2018

M-commerce, android app ‘Tribes

NITI Aayog Released theBaseline Rankingl According to the NITI Aayog,
Mewat in Haryana is the most
backward while Andhra Pradesh’s
Vizianagaram is the
best-performing district of the

l Niti Aayog released the baseline
ranking on March 28, 2018 for 101
aspirational districts based on 49
indicators across five sectors that
includes health and nutrition (30%
weightage), education (30%),
agriculture and water resources
(20%), financial inclusion and skill
development (10%), and basic
infrastructure (10%).
l Mewat is preceded by Madhya
Pradesh’s Singrauli and
Telangana’s Asifabad at the
bottom of the list.
l While Chhattisgarh’s Rajnandgaon
and Maharashtra’s Osmanabad lie
second and third on the top of the

EPFO Launched Portalfor Pensionersl EPFO launched the pensioner’s portal
on March 28, 2018 through which all
EPFO pensioners may get the details
of pension-related information.
l The pensioner’s portal is a recently
launched service where details like
pension payment order number,
payment order details, passbook
information and other related
information are available.
l The enhanced “Track eKYC” facility
for the convenience of members have
also been launched to check the status
of Aadhaar seeded against their UAN.

Non-Maintenance ofMinimum Balance Chargeof the SBIl The country’s largest lender, SBI
State Bank of India slashed charges
for non-maintenance of Average
Monthly Balance (AMB) in savings
accounts by nearly 75%.
l The revised charges will be effective
from April 1, 2018 and will benefit
over 25 crore customers.
l The charges for non-maintenance of
AMB for customers in Metro and
Urban centers have been reduced
from a maximum of ` 50 per month
to ` 15 per month.
l Similarly, for Semi-Urban and Rural
centers, the charges have been
reduced from ` 40 every month to
` 12 and ` 10 GST charges will be
applicable over and above the rates
specified above.
SEBI Allowed PhysicalSettlement of StockDerivativesl The Securities & Exchange Board of
India (SEBI) has allowed physical
settlement of both stock options and
stock futures on March 30, 2018.
l At present only cash settlement of
derivatives is allowed.
l The SEBI has accepted most of the
recommendations of the Uday Kotak
committee, which was set-up to review
corporate governance norms of listed
companies.
l Physical settlement in derivatives is
settling of a trade by giving and take of
shares rather than cash.
Agreement BetweenADB and Indial The government of India has signed
$ 80 million loan agreement on March
27, 2018 with the Asian Development
Bank (ADB) to help modernise
technical and vocational education and
training (TVET) institutions and
improve the skills ecosystem in the
State of Himachal Pradesh.
l The Project will establish a polytechnic
for women, six city Livelihood Centers,
and seven Rural Livelihood Centers,
and upgrade 11 employment
exchanges into model career Centers.
l These efforts will result in improved
TVET awareness among youth,
modernizing training equipment,
implementing a training information
system, forging partnerships with
private sector, and creating better
access to quality market-relevant
TVET and livelihood development
opportunities for youth in
Himachal Pradesh.

` 350 denomination to mark the
350th Birth Anniversary of Shri
Guru Gobind Singh Ji.
