• You could move from class to class

• Marriage, education, children, and women were respected• Women could own property, work outside

the home, and even rule as pharaoh

• Males must serve in the military for a time

• As a farmer you would work on building projects during the ‘off season’

• In general citizens had the freedom to pursue the life the wanted

After Death• Pharaoh became the Ram

Headed Sun God after death and travelled through the underworld

• Pharaoh’s subjects went to great pains to preserve his body, prepare his tomb with spells and servants, and protect his final resting place

• They did this to ensure the sun continued to rise
