Trypanosoma brucei gambiense Slender form, 30 μm long, with kinetoplast, central nucleus,

undulating membrane and long free flagellum. This form is the usual in the smears of the peripheral blood of patients with

sleeping sickness (May-Grünwald-Giemsa stain).
