Strengths: Large number of students:

Undergrad students can work in graduation projects MSc students work in Masters thesis

Large number of academic staff Availability of some government funding Alumni in high positions

Weaknesses: Weak students’ problem solving skills Small number of PhD students Lack of a track record

Opportunities: Alumni can strongly support the link between university

and industry Alumni-owned companies Staff consultancy activities and industrial links Government interest in linking industry and academia

Threats: Failure of the pilot projects Failure to attract staff and/or industry Lack of funding for the Chair office

Research-Utility intensification: Industry-academia forums on departmental level. Student training & internships. Graduation/MSc/PhD projects.

Dissemination Staff& student training. Awareness spreading (senior-level). Website building.

Support mechanisms: Monitoring and support mechanisms for projects. Alumni relations. Industry database. Knowledge management.

Fundraising for the technology transfer activities.
