ADVANTAGES

• Interactive, One-on-one interaction• Immediate Feedback• Personalized learning depending on the program• Adjusting difficulty to level of learner

• Students work at their own pace• Can be used for instruction, remediation, and assessment

• Consistency of information and how it is presented

• Larger class sizes• Helps increase student achievement• Kids love technology!

Why have it?

Why have it?

DISADVANTAGES

• Cost• Equipment• Software• Training

• Accountability of work• Less of a personal touch

• Computer aided instruction is here and will only continue to be more prominent. We need to be aware of these resources and how to use them properly.

• I would like to see more CAI that involves students working with programs that forces them to think more globally. Hopefully they can connect with students from other countries.

Final Thoughts

• Computer aided instruction does not have to mean one student and one computer. There are ways to do small group activities.
