Background
• CITMC-‐4 2012 Khartoum Declara7on “The AUC, NPCA, RECs, Specialized Ins7tu7ons (SI), AfDB and UNECA TO DEVELOP an updated, integrated and coherent AU strategic CIT framework for Africa taking into account exis7ng frameworks of all African CIT stakeholders, and coordinate the convening of an ICT investment forum”

Mission and Vision
• Mission/Purpose: Coordinate, promote and facilitate the development of Posts & ICT to accelerate the integra7on and socio-‐economic development of the Con7nent
• Vision: By 2024 half of Africa’s popula7on will have access to affordable broadband services
1. Post & ICT Infrastructure • Build broadband infrastructures • Use ICTs to modernise postal networks and services
• Promote access to broadband ICT infrastructure in rural and under-‐served areas
• Promote development of regional and con7nental digital broadcas7ng networks and content
• Harmonise op7mal use of the digital dividend
2. Capacity Development • Introduce/extend e-‐Learning in ins7tu7ons of learning • Promote development of specialist/expert capacity in Posts &
