    History

    E.B.T. factory (literally Equipements Basse Tension or Low Voltage Equipment) has been established in Chalon-sur-Sane since 1949, when it moved from a town in eastern France : DELLE. The factory name changed from A.C.E.Delle, to Delle-Alsthom EBT, to GEC-Alsthom EBT, to Alstom T&D EBT and to Areva T&D EBT before being completely taken over by COMECA in 2005.

    The factory is now registered as Comeca Equipements Basse Tension SA (Comeca EBT) and is fully owned by COMECA, a group dedicated to equipment integration in the field of electrical distribution. The factory still occupies the facilities built in 1980 for extension outside of town, in Chatenoy-le-Royal. It has continuously kept on servicing all its customers through the past 60 years.

    Know-how

    With more than half a century of experience in the manufacturing of Low Voltage equipment, the teams at EBT have acquired a perfect expertise of electrical distribution technologies. Most of the manufacturing is dedicated to withdrawable type switchboards : NORMABLOC and GALAXIS.COMECA EBT is a manufacturer of type-tested assemblies as defined per IEC60439. In addition, it also manufactures the intelligent electronic device GemStart 5, which is developed jointly with data concentrators and supervision solutions such as GemView 5. Site services are taken care of by a dedicated team of site supervisors available close to our customer facilities, or travelling around the world when that is necessary, up to offshore platforms.

    Comeca EBT consists of 11,000 square meters of workshops and 2,000 square meters of offices, the whole plant being a property of the company. Around 200 employees work at Comeca EBT for an average turnover of 40 million Euros.

    It is located between Paris and Lyon, in France, on the main North/South highway, next to the high-speed train line to Paris and Paris airport. It is also located 200 km from Geneva. Shipping harbors for exportation of the manufactured equipment are Antwerp and Marseille.
