COASTAL COMMUNITY CENTER HAPPENINGS
THE GERSHWINS, GEORGE & IRA An Enduring Gift. A biographical look
with piano and visuals. For the
Gershwin brothers, songs were their
birthright. The following quotes tell their story
succinctly. "When I'm in my normal mood, music drips from my fingers." George Gershwin and “Damn it all!
What rhymes with rhythm?” Ira Gershwin. During this summer
program author and librarian Dr. Jim Pegolotti meshes the story of George Gershwin’s life with piano selections and video segments from films and
documentaries that featured the songs of the great George and his
lyricist brother Ira. Tuesday evening, July 12, 7 PM at St. Andrew’s
Episcopal Church, Glidden Street, Newcastle. Free will donation of $10 in support of Center programs
and services appreciated.

Active aging is the new buzz word. Instead of focusing on anti-aging, people are focusing on active aging, also known as
pro-aging. And guess what? Aging begins the moment we are born with visible signs beginning as early as our mid-30s. One of the most effec-tive, inexpensive and pain-free ways to look and feel years younger is
right in front of us: It is EXERCISE!
IT’S ALL ABOUT WALKING Walking may be the simplest way to work out and to boost your outlook
on life. You can do it almost anywhere, and it’s a snap to get started: Just put one foot in front of the other. There are many great reasons to walk.
