I. General Approach Handed out today’s agenda; Ted handed out a copy of the 4 Week schedule
Passed around sign in sheet.
II. Progress Report
1. Safety A planned OSHA site visit took place on December 5th as part of the
OVERAA/OSHA partnership. Ted will implement the requests that were discussed.
Dave asked that the sign by the water tender by changed to direct deliveries away from working facility where there is no room. Ted will address the sign.
Be aware of “woopty woos” aka “woops” which cover pipe crossings There are several on the site as well as moving equipment. Please continue to follow safety precautions:
Sign in when arriving on the site,
Wear PPE at all times while visiting,
Please do not roam the site unassisted,
Be aware of constantly changing site conditions
2. Operations Drawdown of south basin began last week. The process water is screened and chlorinated. Wash down water is being recycled as much as possible. Ted is covering the cost with contingency.
It was discovered last week that the chlorine contact chamber has leaks. According to John it has not been tested previously. We will visit on site walk. May require epoxy injection or coating.
New screen is running since it was started up last Thursday. (Site walk revealed excellent quality of screenings)
3. Old Business
(Items completed in the last four weeks)
Completed RAS piping on both basins
Installed electrical conduits & pull boxes for valves in both basins
Installed new Duperon screen in headworks
Installed new washer compactor in headworks
Installed Roll up Door in blower building
Installed lighting in blower building
Completed Foundation of RAS/WAS station
Completed clarifier walls
2
Completed fabrication of Master Blower Control Panel
Received shipment of Biolac equipment
Gates and RAS/WAS pumps have been received. Valves are onsite.
Received last shipment of Clarifier equipment just prior to meeting. (Site walk revealed a need for improved coating)
The exiting channel in the headworks was plugged but not according to the RFI response which would have made it inaccessible permanently. PERC Water will follow through with paper work (new RFI most likely) to fix discrepancy.
RFI’s attachments have not been making it to City or Psomas. PERC Water provides the text but not the attachments in the monthly binder. Most don’t have attachments but all will be printed and provided in a binder to be kept onsite and updated at the monthly meeting.
All previous RFI’s and submittals are complete. (PERC Water has since received an RFI re: Bolts for Flanged Ductile Fittings from Ted.)
III. New Business
4. Schedule
Delivery Date Update/Confirmation for Remaining Items
There will not be much going on over Christmas week. Ted will be down and Peck and Heller are working to finish. Ken will not visit. City office is closed.
On the 4 Week Look Ahead Schedule from Overaa that was handed out “P” stands for placement of concrete.
5. Security 24 Hour security arrived. Lance and his black lab stay in a trailer on the site. They will be on-site for a minimum of 4 months beginning 12/7/12. Lance reported (during the later site walk) that he sees a lot of slow drive byes.
IV. Additional Items
Ken asked for a written testing procedure for the filling of the new clarifiers, it is part of the spec. Ted will complete. Expecting to perform test in January.
John says the cross connections within the reuse system remain.
According to Ted, potable water will be used and there is 700’ of hose.
Ken pointed out the need for backflow protection -air gap preferred.
The nearest hydrants are not plumbed. An alternative is the water tender or the far hydrant. .
If a hydrant is used, please use a hydrant wrench, there is one on the vactor truck.
If the hose crosses the roadway, Ted will use an excavation.
Pretesting will begin Monday 12/17 per John’s suggestion not to fill on the weekend.
Once one clarifier is filled, the water will be transferred to the other.
The Progress Report went out on 12/3/2012 as planned.
Next meeting will be Tuesday, January 8th due to the New Year holiday on the
first Tuesday. (Due to holiday schedules, there may be a delay in publishing the monthly report. It will be available mid-week prior to the meeting.)
