We are looking to recruit 2 x Cinema Assistants to assist with running the daily running of the cinema and to manage daily cinema screenings.
It would suit someone with experience in a similar environment and with some knowledge of digital projection.
You will ensure the smooth daily running of the cinema, often by yourself.
This role will suit someone with a passion for customer service, a love of film and good technical knowledge.

experience:
Experience of working in a similar, focused customer service environment
Working knowledge of digital cinema projection desirable.
Experience of cash handling
Knowledge of Health and Safety and access legislation.

Positive and enthusiastic attitude, calm under pressure
Excellent organisational skills.
Ability to work on own, and from own initiative and problem solve.
First Aid qualification desirable

responsibilities
Welcome cinema goers to film screenings and cinema events at Storyhouse
Monitor and enforce BBFC regulations for screenings
Have excellent knowledge of the cinema programme at Storyhouse & to attend regular meetings with the cinema programmer
Through using our ticketing system, book in tickets to films and problem solve when any ticketing issues may arise
Sell food, drink and other goods to customers, meeting sales targets for upselling.
Be responsible for vending machines and advise/order stock for the machines as required
Promote and monitor the use of the company’s epos systems and associated technology, for ordering food and beverage to the cinema
Have good technical knowledge and / aptitude and be willing to be trained on the projection elements of the cinema operation.
Resolve all problems whilst on duty relating to problems with projection, environment, heating, lighting, and security.
Be a representative of Storyhouse values and solve any problems or questions which may arise about other areas in Storyhouse – to include the Kitchen, Library & Theatre.
Provide assistance to other customer service operations including welcoming customers to other events as required.
Be responsible for checking and resolving cleaning problems including the cinema’s bathroom facilities.
Be a fully trained ticket sales operator and assist customers across the business to access ticket sales.
To work with the film programmer to facilitate Q&As and other programme related items.
To prepare the cinema for screenings and make sure it is clean, tidy and presentable, and clean it after screenings as necessary.
Work with the marketing department to promote the forthcoming film programme especially in the building and be responsible for the timely and accurate display of advertising materials as required.
Complete banking, manage budgets and stock management.
Be responsible for the safety and evacuation of customers and be fully conversed with our safety systems
To be a named first aider for Storyhouse
Permanent contract, minimum 30 hours per week
Reports to Cinema Manager
Salary: hourly, £8 per hour
