Step3:Dipthebottomofyourbottleintothepaint.Thebottomsofmostplasticsodabottleshavefivepointsjustlikethe5petalsofacherry

blossom!

Step4:Pressthepaint-coveredbottomofthebottleontoyourpaperalongthebranches.

short-lived,theyarealsosymbolicofthefleetingnatureoflife.

v UScherryblossomtreesdatebackto1912.ThefirstUScherrytreeswereplantedin1912asagiftoffriendshipfromJapan.Over3,000treesspanning12varietieswere

shippedfromYokohamatoSeattle.TheywerethentransferredtofreightcarsandsenttoWashington,D.C.
