INTRODUCTION
During 2009, Charlie Mortimer continued drilling a diamond drill hole on a claim in Dore
Township, situated approximately 100 kilometres southwest of Timmins Ontario, within
the Porcupine Mining Division.
The claim is located in the Swayze greenstone belt of the Abitibi Subprovince. The
greenstone belt is an east-west trending sequence 45km by 25km. Rock types include
massive and fragmental rhyolite volcanic rocks, massive and pillowed basaltic flows, and
scattered feldspar porphyry intrusions. Sedimentary rocks are a minor component and
include greywacke, argillite, and conglomerate. East-west trending fold axis, are
prevalent throughout the stratigraphic package.
Diamond drilling was planned to test a surface showing of quartz carbonate veins within
a wide alteration system which was uncovered during a mechanical trenching program.
The drill hole 2008-1 was planned to be drilled to a depth of approximately 300 metres,
however drilling was suspended in the fall of 2008 due to weather conditions. In the
spring of 2009 and throughout the summer the drilling of this hole was resumed. The
author of this report visited the property on April 14 2010 to log the drill core. Mr
Mortimer intends to continue drilling this hole as widespread quartz carbonate alteration,
and shearing has been intersected as the bottom of the hole.
LOCATION AND ACCESS
The property is situated 100 kilometres southwest ofTimmins, Ontario. The project is
located inDore Township of the Porcupine Mining Division. The latitude and longitude
of the project is NTS 41 0 I NE, 47° 45 'N 82° 40' E.
Access to the property is excellent. The Folyet Timber road crosscuts the property. The
logging road is accessed from Hwy 101 approximately 100 km southwest ofTimmins.
The property is approximately 55km south of the Hwy. A logging access trail can be use
to drive to the drill setup.
PROPERTY
The Dore Project consists of 17 unpatented mining claims. The claims are situated in
Dore Township (01108) and Swayze Township (G 3249) ofthe Porcupine Mining
Division. The holder of claim 4202495 is Charles Mortimer (1 00% ).
TOPOGRAPHY
The Dore project is characterized by flat to gently rolling topography. The vegetation
consists predominantly of balsam and spruce in the low areas, and a mixture of poplar
and balsam in the high areas. Outcrop exposure is approximately five to ten percent.
REGIONAL GEOLOGY
The project is situated in the Swayze greenstone belt of the Abitibi Subprovince. The
greenstone belt is an east-west trending sequence 45 km by 25 km. Rock types include
massive and fragmental rhyolite volcanics, massive basalt flows, and scattered feldspar
porphyry intrusions. Sedimentary rocks are a minor component and include greywacke
and conglomerate. East-west trending fold axis are prevalent throughout the stratigraphic
package.
The Ontario Geological Survey completed a mapping project ofDore Township O.D.M.
Report 33.
PROPERTY GEOLOGY
The claims are situated over a major east west trending rhyolite I basalt contact.
Lithological contacts are preferential sites of structural development, thus important
exploration targets.
The geology of the project consists of a thick sequence of volcanic rocks which include
mafic volcanic flows, mafic lapilli tuffs, conglomerates, feldspar porphyry intrusions, and
narrow north-south trending diabase dykes, and an east-west oriented 50m wide shear
2
zone. Alteration within the shear zone consists of chlorite - sericite - carbonate schist.
Quartz veins were identified at a number of locations along the structure. Charlie
Mortimer has completed considerable mechanical trenching on the property. The author
has visited and mapped these trenches. Once the maps are compiled it is hoped that a
better understanding of the property geology will be apparent. The goal of the mapping is
to get a basic understanding of the major rock types, possible marker horizons,
distribution of alteration, and orientation of structures and vein systems. The field
mapping is complete but still needs to be compiled on proper maps. The mapping portion
will be the subject of a separate assessment report.
EXPLORATION PROGRAM
Charlie Mortimer has been undertaking exploration activities for a number of years on
this project area. Work has included considerable mechanical trenching, diamond
drilling, prospecting and gold analysis. Mr. Mortimer is currently drilling a hole to
evaluate a newly discovered gold showing that was uncovered during the mechanical
trenching program. Drill hole 2008-1 was planned to be drilled approximately 300
metres in depth. Mr. Mortimer owns and operates his own diamond drill rig. In the
summer and fall of 2008 Mr. Mortimer drilled 90.1 metres on this hole but suspended
drilling because of poor weather conditions. The hole was continued in the summer of
2009 to a depth of218.9 m. The author visited the drill on April14, 2010, site and
logged and the drill core. The location plan of the drill hole, the drill section and drill log
are included in the Appendix I of this report.
Mafic volcanic flows are the major unit intersected to date and typically massive to
weakly foliated. The drill hole intersected quartz carbonate sericite altered porphyry at
206m with increasing alteration an shearing to the bottom of the hole 218.9 m (Photo 1
and 2).
CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
3
The author agrees with Charlie Mortimer's plan to continue the drill hole through the
alteration system.
