Alright. I know we don‘t exactly teach or lecture in a foreign language.

Hey…Wait a minute

In my class, I am teaching students how to write basic code. Sometimes it seems just as foreign as German.

What do we teach?

For Instance, I might say, Make sure your cortex is set to the correct platfrom type and have the potentiometer plugged into analog port 2. Today we are going to write Natural Language code from the Pseudocode your wrote yesterday.

Without a chance to talk to classmates and be able to ask clarifying questions, any of our classes might sound like a foreign language at times.

Truth is:

As students struggle with new vocabulary and subject matter, interaction with fellow students is imperative for understanding

Interaction!

Yet there is often little time for interaction as instructors often do a majority of the talking.
