It is our prayer that by getting a glimpse of the larger outreach of CFO, you will reach beyond theborders of your own camp and retreat to participate in other CFO events, work with us to expand CFO'soutreach in your local community and prayerfully consider serving in the many levels of CFO leadership.

A PERFECT PORTRAITOF THE FATHER

We sometimes speak about “living inGod’s Kingdom” in such a way that we missthe power and deep meaning of thesewords. God’s Kingdom is our place of origin.Genesis tells us that mankind came intobeing in this kingdom (the Garden of Eden)where our first parents, Adam and Eve,enjoyed an interactive relationship with Godand an unrestrained enjoyment of all Hiscreation. But it also says that completehuman freedom is not possible without anobedient relationship with God. Because ofdisobedience to God Adam and Eve wereexpelled from the Garden; prevented fromre-entering by their own strength; andcondemned to work the land for survival.

Life, in the Garden, was fulfilling and eternal.Life, outside the Garden, was mereexistence that ended in death.

Genesis assures us clearly that KingdomLiving is what mankind is designed to do. Itis our fulfillment to live in an interactiveongoing relationship with the Creator. Jesusopened the gates to the Garden for usthrough His death and resurrection. But wemust humble ourselves and acknowledgeour state of disobedience. Just like in theGarden, true freedom, true joy, is onlypossible when we live under God’s rule. There lies the Kingdom of God.

ACFO’s mission statement speaks of“helping people discover the Kingdom of

All of our actions are brush strokes that paint a portrait of God for the world to see.

God in the midst of today’s world.” Ourfounder, Glenn Clark spoke of going “fartherout” with God in our lives. Our destination inthis journey of going farther out is theKingdom of God. Consider the GreatestCommandment (Matthew 22:37) which isspeaking to oneness with God when Jesussays, “Love the Lord your God with all yourheart and with all your soul and with all yourmind.” Obedience to thiscommand will enable us to lovelike the Lord; be compassionatelike the Lord; and to think likethe Lord. Our life will touch theEternal in the enjoyment of all ofGod’s wonderful creation if webut live in the freedom of theinteractive relationshipdescribed in Genesis.

However we fall short of the fullness ofthis calling in our lives by thinking thefollowing two words are equal in meaning:doing and living. Most of us place a heavyemphasis on what we do rather than how welive. We unconsciously believe our lives aredefined by what we do; what we’veaccomplished, and how our doing bringsprogress to our lives. We carry this mindsetinto our relationship with God. Our focus, too often, is on what can we do for the Lordtoday!

There is a significant difference betweendoing God’s Will and living in God’s Will. Itis the difference of being a servant of God asopposed to being a child of God. It is thedifference between agreeing with God’sWill as opposed to having the mind of Christ.Doing is essentially coexisting with Godbecause we are doing it my way.Coexistence is not the interactive

relationship described inGenesis. Coexistence allowsthe use of any means toaccomplish an end.

The greatest commandmentspeaks to both the means andthe end as being one. LivingGod’s call on my life, as thiscommandment demands, requires my life to be so

interwoven with God’s will that nothing I dois seen as separate from God. I am called tolive inside the Father, not outside of Him.

Therefore everything I do should be areflection of God…with my life I amcontinually painting a portrait of the Father. All of my actions are brush strokes that painta portrait of God for the world to see. Thisrequires more of me than showing what Ihave done for God. A true portrait of Godemerges only when He is seen in means ofaccomplishing the act, as well as the ends of

Some would preach that faith is a means of pain avoidance; allhappiness, all prosperity, all the kids in ministry with no problems. That is not the Christian faith at all. Life in this world brings problems. The chief symbol of the faith is an instrument of suffering and death, the cross.

Jim Brunner (Arizona CFO); Arrows of the Almighty, November 2013

an act. God is not only seen in the end ofwhat I do but also in the means I use toaccomplish His end in this world. As Jesussays, “…let your light shine before men, thatthey may see your good deeds and praiseyour Father in heaven.” (Matthew 5:16) It ismore than people only seeing my gooddeeds, and that is all they will see if Iaccomplish them in MY way. This will resultin praise for me, not God. No, my life is tobe such that good deeds clearly result inpraise for the Father in heaven, not me.

Prayer is the key in living such a life. Wesee this clearly in the life of Jesus. Notice inthe Gospels, how often He goes off to pray.Jesus often talks of how, “when you seeme…you see the Father” and how He is“one” with the Father. The Father did not

send Jesus to earth and leave it to Him tofigure out the details of how to savemankind. No, Jesus’ life was a totalinvolvement with the Father in all the detailsof His life on this earth. Jesus did nothingoutside of his Father’s Will. To the Fatherthe means are as important as the end forboth are to be done in love.

ACFO is being called to return to itsroots of prayer. Through daily prayer wecan live in the Kingdom--God deeplyinvolved with us and us deeply involved withGod. Interweaving the brush strokes ofGod’s portrait such that it is impossible toknow our brush strokes from God’s. Theportrait the world sees by our life will beGod’s portrait, not our own.

What characterizes a Christian, so that otherssay, "I want what that person's got?" Thedistinguishing marks of a Christian are unconditionalacceptance, unconditional forgiveness, andunconditional love. The side effects of thesecharacteristics are joy, tireless determination, aradiating love, and a readiness to pray instantly.

Unconditional is the key word. I shouldn't judgepeople, but I do. Some I don't readily accept as theymake me feel uncomfortable, others have irritatinghabits, and there are even some who "aren't frommy planet!" I have to work at accepting them.Unconditional forgiveness is easier because living ina state of unconditional forgiveness was the onlyway I could survive as a pastor. Unconditional loveis my greatest challenge, but is the most rewarding.

We are to love our neighbor as ourselves(Matthew 19:19). I've discovered that the key toloving my neighbor is to pray for my neighbor. Itworks like this. We deliberately set our minds tofocus on our neighbor, be it a co-worker, a clerk ina store, or strangers we pass on the street. Wethink thoughts of love towards them (Jeremiah

29:11). We are ever observant for opportunities tooffer hope, to pray for them, to encourage them. These are marks of loving.

For example, if you notice someone in pain, stopand politely ask if you may pray for them. If they say"Yes," offer a short and simple prayer of authority."Pain, come out in the name of Jesus." Or,"Headache, by the authority of Jesus' name Icommand you to cease and all pain and stress toleave." You don't have to touch the person, or thepoint of pain. If you do, be discreet. Your job is toconvey God’s love to the person. Caring aboutthem is how it's done. Leave the results in God'shands. We always want immediate results, butimmediate results are the exception, not the rule. You just speak the word of authority and trust Godto do the rest after you've gone.

Be a lover by being a pray-er.

The lighthouse sends out a beacon todirect and send hope of a safe arrival fortravelers and pilgrims searching for a haven inwhich to rest and find peace. It is our hopethat this site provides useful, interesting, andcurrent information with the hope that it willhelp prayer groups as they form and growpraying with unity and power. Bits and pieces of Steve Green’s song arerunning through my mind. “People need theLord…we are called to take His light…He’sthe open door…they must hear the words oflife only we can share…”

People Need The Lord & The Lord NeedsPeople! The Lord has chosen us…sanctifiedus by His truth…called us to bear His fruit…to pray. ‘To walk in love as Christ has lovedus’ and ‘to walk as children of Light becausewe are Light in the Lord’(Eph. 5: 2 & 8). Letus make the most of every opportunity.

We are His Athletes of the Spirit to be aboutThe Father’s business just as Jesus did HisFather’s work when He was here on earth. Inthe last days before Jesus was crucified Hesaid, “The Father will give you whatever youask in my name. Love one another.” Heprayed, “My prayer is not that You, Father, take them out of the world but that Youprotect them from the evil one.”(John 17:15).

Jesus also said,“Greater works than these youshall do because I go to my Father.” (John 14:12-14).

“Prayer is the greater work.” (OswaldChambers, My Utmost for His Highest). Solet us pray wherever we live…whatever thecircumstances…for whoever needs prayer. Results always happen from God’s point ofview when there is prayer. May we each beobedient to God’s calling… to seek Himdiligently in silence and prayer…to cometogether often in prayer with others.

I believe God is still calling for an increaseof many prayer groups all around the world:As many prayer groups as there are firefliesin an Iowa cornfield on a hot July summernight. “Now to Him who is able to do morethan all we ask or imagine, according to Hispower that is at work within us…to God bethe glory!” (Eph. 3: 20). Amen!v

CFO's fellowship reaches beyond your local camp experience, it reaches around theworld. In this directory you will see a list of CFO events taking place in locations across theglobe. Consider this directory to be more than information, it is to visit anyone or more of these camps and retreats. You will find the CFO Daily Program to be thesame as your CFO camp but wonderfully and richly flavored with the local culture's music, hospitality, and expressions of love for the Lord.

Experiencing CFO with your brothers andsisters will broaden your understanding of God's Kingdom as well as bring a blessing youwill treasure forever in your heart! If you are unable to travel to an international CFOevent, you can participate by using this listing of events as a way to pray for each event.

Comments from the Regional Meeting in Fiji this summer:“I love getting to know people from other countries.Hand to hand, shoulder to shoulder, it’s wonderful.”

“I was amazed at how accepting everyone is of oneanother.”

“It’s interesting the corners you rub off each other.”Comments from some of the camps in Nigeria:

“The singing really motivated me to understanding the joythat abounds in togetherness.”

“In CFO you can go cross cultural and merge with anytribe without discrimination.”

“This is training to live out the excellence of God.”

“I can say that I seldom had the privilege to bein a group of people so open and eager to learnto listen to God and be in His presence. Hispresence was real,” writes Erika, after leading atthe CFOI camp in Ukraine. The camp has beenmeeting for just a few years, with a young, dedicated Council Ring.

Last year a family from Ukraine CFO moved toPoland, and wanted to start CFO there. Theybegan to pray, and soon had a prayer groupmeeting regularly. They wanted to hold a CFOcamp, and they invited leaders from othercountries to come and train new leaders; thattraining was held in early summer 2013. Then inAugust the first Poland CFO was held, withsupport from CFOI leaders from Germany,United Kingdom and The Netherlands.

Praise God for this growth, and may it serve asa model for spreading training camps forKingdom Living in more countries.

“The deepest passion of ourlives is to learn how to love Godwith all the strength of ourdedicated bodies, all theintelligence of our dedicatedminds, all the loyalty of ourdedicated hearts, and all thedevotion of our dedicated souls. We shall try to practice and, bythe contagion of our example, inspire others to practice lovingour neighbors as ourselves, regardless of their nationality, race or creed.” – Glenn Clark, Founderof CFO
