28/11/2003 : The Agency is responsible for continuing airworthiness (Regulation (EC) 2042/2003)

Part-145 Maintenance Approvals
Article 15 of Regulation 1592/2002:EASA is responsible for issuing foreign maintenance organisation approvals
Transfer of work : 158 foreign JAR 145 approvals were issued by Member States. Transfer into EASA Part-145 approvals has commenced
US and Canada: JAR 145 acceptance : 1400certificates were issued via JAA bilaterals & will also require EASA Part-145 certificates

The Agency is also responsible as detailed in Annex 4 to Regulation 2042/2003 for all foreign maintenance training organisations
All Part-145 and Part-147 foreign approvals must be transitioned by 28 November 2004
