CCAT rainwater catchment system
by Dylan Hills and Christian Nielsen
Rainwater catchment
What does it mean to catch rainwater?
Rainwater harvesting is the accumulation and deposition of rainwater for reuse before it reaches the aquifer. Uses include water for garden, water for livestock, water for irrigation, etc. In many places the water collected is just redirected to a deep pit with percolation.
How CCAT’s System WorksCCAT House is located on HSU campus
Its focus is to alter the way we think and use appropriate technology
At First Glance
• We found the system to be standing in good working order. The first thing you come across when you approach the site is the bright Rainwater catchment explanation board. It is important for the system to have this example and explanation of how this system works and how the water is used so the community can understand the importance of rainwater catchment
What is the potential for rainwater catchment?
What does CCAT use their rainwater for?
