Waiting to see if the library is going to buy a certain book? Want to be notified if the library buys a title you suggest? Set up a catalog email alert and never miss a new title again.

Get the most out of your library!

Preferred Searches

NASHVILLE PUBLIC LIBRARY

You’ve suggested a book, movie, or CD for purchase.

How will you know if the library adds it to the collection?

Create a Preferred Search and you will get an email alert when we add a requested item to the

collection!

Click on My Account.

Sign in with your library card number and PIN.

Your Name123 Your StreetCity, TN 12345615-555-5555your.email@wherever.com

Click Search the Catalogto set up your preferred search.

Type the Title of the item you suggested for purchase.

Be sure to click the radio button next to Title.

Click Submit.

Your results page should look something like this.

The library does not own the title.

We want an alert if the library adds the title to the collection.

Click on Save as preferred search.

It may look like nothing happened, but click on Patron Record…

…and click on Preferred Searches.

listed at the bottom of your account.

Now you need to set your search to send you email alerts.

Click the checkbox next to the title of the book.

Now click Update List.

Your email alert is complete!

Your Name123 Your StreetCity, TN 12345615-555-5555your.email@wherever.com

You may cancel an email alert at any time. Just uncheck the email

box and click Update List.
