Join us for the 31st Annual Scientific Meeting of the Canadian Geriatrics
Society. In 2011 we are so pleased to be hosting our national conference in
beautiful Vancouver at the Four Seasons Hotel.
Spring always comes early to Vancouver and April is a beautiful time to visit
and explore the gardens, sneak in some late season skiing, try out the world
renown golf courses, and simply enjoy our coastal city!
We have already secured a number of international keynote presenters and are
well on our way to developing a top quality CPD program for April 2011. There
is already a lot of interest in the 2011 conference and we look forward to
welcoming you to join us in 2011!

The Education Day has traditionally been a very important part of our annual conference. We created this
day’s agenda to cater to the learning needs of our Geriatric Fellows. However this year the topics will
particularly appeal to a wider audience and offers the chance to collect more credits and enjoy first class

The CGS Annual Meeting Commences with a reception, cocktails and opening remarks for the early
part of the evening. All registrants can sign up for either Thursday’s session above or all three days.
Please review the registration page for fees and ensure you sign up early take advantage of the
discount early bird fees.

Registration is available all day in the Four Seasons ballroom foyer
After the sessions end, delegates will have a break till the evening sessions begin. All are welcome to
join the fellows and presenters at a local lounge called the St. Regis Bar and Grill on Dunsmuir and
Seymour St (a few minutes walk away) from 830-1030 PM.
ACCREDITATION
Accreditation
The University of British Columbia Divi-
sion of Continuing Professional Devel-
opment (UBC CPD) is fully accredited by
the Committee on Accreditation of
Canadian Medical Schools (CACMS) to
provide study credits for continuing
medical education for physicians. As
well, the Accreditation Council for Con-
tinuing Medical Education of the United
States (ACCME) maintains a reciprocity
relationship with CACMS which the
American Medical Association (AMA)
recognizes for the purpose of allowing
Canadian medical schools the ability to
certify activities for AMA PRA Category
1 credits and to award such credits to
eligible physicians. This program has
been reviewed and approved by the
UBC Division of Continuing Professional
Development. UBC CPD designates this
educational program as meeting the
accreditation criteria of the College of
Family Physicians of Canada for up to
23.25 MAINPRO M1 credits. This pro-
gram is an Accredited Group Learning
Activity eligible for up to 20.75 Section
1 credits as defined by the Maintenance
of Certification program of the Royal
College of Physicians and Surgeons of
Canada. This program also meets the
accreditation criteria for a maximum of
23.25 Category 1 credits toward the
American Medical Association Physi-
cian’s Recognition Award. Each physi-
cian should claim only those credits he/
she actually spent in the activity.

ment reserves the right to cancel a course thirty
(30) days prior to the course date. Each regis-
trant will be notified by telephone, followed by
written notification and a full refund. The Uni-
versity of British Columbia is not responsible for
any costs, including, but not limited to, airline or
hotel penalties.
Should you need to cancel your registration, you
must do so by email to: cpd.info@ubc.ca before
March 24, 2011. You must then return by mail
your Income Tax Receipt in order to receive a
refund. Once this has been received, your regis-
tration fee, less a $50 handling charge, will be
refunded. After March 24, 2011, no refunds will
be granted for withdrawal unless a replacement
can be secured by the registrant; however, a $50
cancellation fee will still apply.
