… is not a tender conference
… not an adult education about the Bergen Light Raileither
• Our aim for today is to give the market an overall presentation of the Bergen Light Railconstruction phase 4
Bybanen Utbygging – who are we?:
• A public builder on behalf of Hordaland County Council and the parties in the «Urban Growth Agreement for Bergen»
• We’re given the authorizations to prepare and follow up strategies for procurement and construction works.
• We‘re responsible for the detail design, procurement, construction works and handover to the owner company.
Bybanen Utbygging and the suppliers
The suppliers are important, thus -
• They’re performing the actual building
• Their understanding of the task is crucial
• Their competence and abilities to perform is essential
• BU depends on skilled contractor and suppliers!
Bybanen Utbygging – we see ourselves as …
… a professional and demanding client- only skilled suppliers are working for us

3D/BIM goals
Bybanen Utbygging (BU) wants to promote the use ofinformation‐ og communcation technology, trying to streamlinethe design and construction.
This means extended use of 3D models through all phases of theproject and using the model as a platform for exchange ofinformation between, designers, engineers, constructors, ownerand others
3D/BIM goals
• Ensure quality in designed solutions
• Ensure efficient communication in the project
• Ensure constructability
• Increased safety
• Reduced cost
The road to 3D/BIM
• Useful 3D experience from stage 3
• Comprehensive 3D and model requirements for the engineeringand design team.(BIM execution plan)
• Use 3D models in zoning and design phase.
• Extended requirements for 3D og model deliveries and usage in construction phase.
How does this impact stage 4
• Models must be used for construction
• Individual models per contract
• Reduced number of drawings
• Models prioritized over drawings
• Drawings delivered only as digital pdf format
• Focus on collaboration
Technical presentation of3D/BIM plans for stage 4
When: 09.00 am, thursday 07.09.2017Location: 1. floor. Meeting room: Vestland, Fylkeshuset, Agnes

Contract strategy
Bybanen Utbygging has chosen to:1. Divide the civil works in to several contracts to enable several construction sites
2. Have different sizes for the contracts to enable the possibilities for different contractors
3. Technical contracts mainly covering all the line from city center to the depot
4. Technical contracts dedicated to specific craft
