A Prayer before the Rosary
LORD JESUS CHRIST, crucified and risen from the dead, our only Saviour, listen with kindness to our prayers which we offer through the Immaculate Heart of your Mother, Mary. Have mercy on us and on the whole world, ac-
cording to the goodness and wisdom of your Sa-cred Heart. Please bless Pope Francis and all the
bishops, and others, who will take part in the com-ing Synod. Let your saving word shine out with clarity and your divine compassion flow with abundance, on and through the Synod. Please bless our diocese and all our families. We ask this in your Name, O Jesus, who live and reign forever and ever. Amen.

May 10, 2015 - 6th Sunday of Easter Jesus Loves Me
Acts 10 Peter preaches to the gentiles. Psalm 98 God revealed to the nations his saving power. 1 John 4 Gods love calls us to love one another. John 15 Love one another as I have loved you.
Last year, PBS premiered a documentary called Happy, which featured interviews with people around the world and with scientists involved in happiness research. When asked what they want from life, people everywhere said they just wanted to be happy. The discovery was that true happi-
ness comes from doing things for others. In todays Gospel, Jesus says, Love one another as I have loved you, and in those words we are given the formula for our own happiness not just here and now, but in the hereafter, as well. -- Dc. Dick Folger Next Weeks Readings Acts 1 Jesus earthly ministry ends with his ascension. Psalm 47 God mounts his throne to shouts of joy. Eph 1 Pauls extended prayer for the Ephesians. Mark 16 Go and proclaim the Gospel.
Popes Pastoral Work Collection Sunday May 16/17
A disastrous flood or earthquake strikes a nation at the other end of the world. Imme-diately many countries rush in food, medi-cine, blankets, money, and trained people. Promi-nent among such aid is the financial help offered by the Holy Father to people in need. In the name of Catholics everywhere, he displays Christs love and compassion for those who suffer. Each year at this time, Canadian Catholics are asked to give gener-ously to this papal collection, which is passed on to the Holy Father for his use. This collection will be taken at all Masses next weekend, May 16-17.

MOTHER'S DAY PRAYER We thank you, Lord, for our mothers. We remem-ber today their loving care, and their ceaseless love for us. May we show them by our gifts, our words, and our actions that we love them and care about them too.
Father, we thank you for the family of the Church; we thank you for those who are true mothers within our Christian family. May they
know your blessing and strength as they care for others. Amen.

Pledges & Donations - Did you know? If you are planning to make a charitable donation to the building fund, consider this tax-saving strategy. If youve already determined that you will be selling some of your current investments, you have an op-portunity to reduce the tax you would otherwise have to pay on the sale of your investments if you donate the investments directly to a charity. Alt-hough a donation of property is considered a dispo-sition for tax purposes, as a result of these tax in-centives the taxable capital gain realized on a do-nated publicly-traded security is eliminated. In ei-ther case, you will receive a tax receipt for the full amount of your donation regardless of the tax treatment of the capital gain.
