A stunning farmhouse nestled in a Somerset village is complemented by a unique glazed extension including full width, Bifold doors. The design includes a bespoke fascia with a concealed gutter, giving the exterior a contemporary appearance. The use of more glass and less timber gives an unfussy approach to the design and gives the customer a full view of their garden.

Multipoint LockingDesigns with master and slave doors can also operate as traditional a French or single door system. Folding
door systems are complemented with Centor locking systems with Twinpoint lock and dropbolts.
Bottom RollingThe weight of the doors is carried by the bottom rolling system, eliminating the need for overhead structur-al beams. The bearings, tapered rollers and angled track are all concealed by a protective gasket which helps prevent debris collecting in the sill track. Cleaning sweepers ensure any grit or dust is cleared away from the rolling mechanism and drainage weep holes allow any water and dust to escape.
SillHousing the bottom rolling gear into our timber sill section gives a sleek design finish whilst maintaining excellent weatherproofing and draught exclusion.
Smooth OperationThe bottom rolling system gives an extremely smooth operation. So much so that stacking the bifold leaves can be done with the push of a finger! Combining such high quality bifolding gear with our premium joinery gives a finished product that is second to none.
Weatherproofing GasketAs well as the weather tested Centor track, all door leafs are fitted with a double gasket system giving excellent weather proofing and insulation.
Incorporating the Centor F3 system into our premium quality joinery, our smooth
operating Bifold system is tried and tested on hundreds of installations. Precision
joinery ensures that when correctly installed, only simple balancing adjustments
should be required on site.

David Salisbury has carefully selected the best timber for each applicationwithin our product range. Our frames, sashes and roof timbers are manufac-tured from Engineered Siberian Larch where a solid colour finish is required unless otherwise specified. Where requested, we are also able to offer FSC® certified products sourced from responsibly managed forest FSC® C002189.
Glazing bead and bonded bar sets are manufactured from Qwood where the product is non-translucent and does not have any curved beading or bars. Qwood is a composite derived from timber sourced in sustainably managed forests. For any product requiring a translucent finish or curved beading or bars, Idigbo will be used.
David Salisbury are using Siberian Larch exclusively from sustainable forests in Eastern Siberian close to the Arctic Circle. The cold Siberian climate, with annual average temperature of −5 °C results in a small growth each year, showing in the tight grain pattern that can be seen in the timber. This slow growth is also the key to the excellent properties of the Siberian larch giving superior durability to both water and insect attack meaning there is no need to treat the timber using chemical treatments. The hardness results in a product that is resistant to damage and manual attack.
David Salisbury use Sapele from sustainable forest sources in Western Africa. Sapele is a hardwood that is renowned throughout the joinery industry for its hardness and durability, as well as the good wood grain characteristics. We utilise Sapele for our premium products and all ‘stained’ finishes in a mixture of solid and engineered, clear faced timber to ensure the best properties are retained for our customers.
We can also manufacture from Air Dried, European Oak in all of our glazed extensions.
David Salisbury uses a mixture of both laminated, engineered timber and solid. Engineered timber has been utilised by David Salisbury for many years to increase the stability of our product, helping to ensure that the seasonal variations in components do not move out of tolerances and ensure your product works all year round. Where woodgrain is the main feature of the product, we only use clear faced timber to allow the natural variations to shine through in the finished product.
