The grocery retail meeting on January 29th, 2016
brought together the Independent and Banner
Grocery teams for the retail kickoff of Season
products. Kevin O’Brien, Vice President of Sales for
Season, and Lance Reiter, Director of Sales, attended
the meeting. Lance began the meeting, expressing his
excitement about the new partnership with E.A. Berg :
“This is the first time ever in the history of the
company that we have taken on a broker. This
partnership will help us expand the Season Brand
and provide new opportunities for growth.”
After Lance took the team through a presentation on
“Sardines 101”, the sales representatives had a chance
to sample sardines, receiving gift bags with the full
line of Season products, including their canned
vegetables and chestnuts. The sales representatives
appreciated the education on the fish category, and
were eager to begin coverage of Season in their stores.

Each issue of The Berg Bulletin will feature profiles of exceptional associates nominated by their
coworkers. The featured associates will be recognized for being role models to others and for their
integrity on and off the job. Thanks to all the amazing nominations received for the Winter issue,
we have decided to feature two associates, Debra Mayo and Jeffrey Figueroa
Name: Jeffrey Figueroa
Position: P&G Van Sales Representative, Philadelphia
Years at E.A. Berg: 2
Excerpts from Nominations: “Jeff sets high
expectations for himself and sets the precedent for all
others to follow suit”- Savier Cuadro
“He is our team leader and does everything in his
power to steer us in the right direction”- Daniel
Figueroa
During a Typical Day at E.A. Berg: I start off by
planning my route and restocking my company van.
Most of the time, I call the other Philadelphia reps to ask them how they are and to see if
there is anything specific that I can help them with. After this, I head over to my
customers and continue to build my rapport with them. I find this to be an important
part of my day because building those relationships is the key to opening doors for any
sales position.
My Favorite Part of My Job is: Meeting and working with different people every day. I
find it exciting to educate new customers about what our program is designed to do and
the tools we offer to help grow their business.
The Most Challenging Part of my Job is: Keeping my loyal customers engaged with the
idea that we are here to provide new points of distribution, and not just to re-stock and
merchandise their business.
Places I’d like to Travel to: I really want to travel to southern Mexico to visit the Mayan
pyramids .
My favorite TV shows are: The Flash, Gotham, Supernatural, and Impractical Jokers

During a Typical Day at E.A. Berg: I start by checking the Front Ends: checking
dates, rotating product, getting tags... I check for shippers in the back room and
get them out on the sales floor. I use my IPad to check for upcoming promotions,
which I go over with the grocery manager and other
managers. Then I walk the store with my IPad
questions, and I leave my suggested order with CGO
for the next week.
