• Positive commands tell a person what to do.– Get out of the pool! There’s a shark!

• The subject (you) is understood. Often the sentence includes the name of the person you are speaking to set apart by a comma.– Swim faster, Paco!

To tell someone (tú) what to do, use the él form of a verb.

• Eat your broccoli.

• comer -

• Come el brócoli.

• Clean your room.• arreglar • Arregla tu cuarto.• Turn left at the corner.• doblar• Dobla a la izquierda en la esquina.• Pay at the cash register.• pagar• Paga en la caja.

jugar > Juega al fútbol conmigo.

pedir > Pide una pizza.

For reflexive verbs, ATTACH “te” to the verb form and add an accent.

Sentarse > siéntate (sit down)

Cepillarse > cepíllate los dientes (brush your teeth)

Lavarse > lávate las manos (wash your hands)
