Much of Port-au-Prince, Haiti’s capital, was reduced to rubble by the 7.3-magnitude quake on Tuesday. However, its airport remains operational, leaving a crucial door open to air. China, the victim of its own catastrophic earthquake in early 2008, stepped up on Wednesday evening to send its experienced relief teams with 10 tons of supplies and food to the island nation. Though the countries share no diplomatic relations, the relief team hopes to assist in saving those who like buried before time runs out. Many governments and aid agencies are participating in this massive relief operation.
