Federation, “Naboisho habitat and wildlife reflects a view of the Mara in the 1960s-70s”

• Naboisho converted land previously regarded by the Masai owners as wasteland due in part to rocky terrain and lack of water, into a renowned wildlife refuge.

• Naboisho Conservancy has the highest density of lions in the Mara and challenges that of the Ngorongoro

• The population of Topi, Hartebeest, Eland, Thompson gazelle, and Zebra has increased from 1,500 animals counted on a 25km transect in June 2010 to some 3,500 animals

• Hippo population has increased from 13 to 25 in early 2011
