Conformation and obedience pre-entry closing date: July 24, 2017.
Stockdog pre-Entries must be postmarked between July 8, 2017 & July 24, 2017. ALL STOCKDOG
ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED IN POSTMARK ORDER except that entries received more than 10 days
after the postmark date will be accepted by receipt date. Day of entries added on must pay day of entry fees. No
refunds will be made if the show/trial cannot open due to riots, civil disturbances, acts of God, public emergencies
or other events beyond the control of the ASC of WA. No entry shall be accepted from a dog or handler disqualified
from the ASCA Conformation program; a dog or handler disqualified from all ASCA programs; or a person not in good
standing with ASCA. Entries must be on an official ASCA form with the agreement signed on the back. Information
must be complete, legible and indicate the date of show(s). Entry forms for each event may have all the days entries
on one form. No mail will be accepted without waiver of signature and will be returned if this is not done. Entry
fees may be refunded if an owner presents show committee with a letter from a veterinarian stating the entry should
not participate due to health reasons. These refunds must be requested prior to start of the show. $20.00 fee for any

DIVISIONS: Started, Open, Advanced, Junior Handler, Novice Handler (Arena trials), Open and Advanced for
Farm Dog Trial
RUNS: Friday: 20 runs cattle of cattle Farm Dog Trial. 20 runs of sheep Farm Dog Trial and sheep Ranch Dog
Trial combined, Sat/Sun: 2 trials each day with 50 runs of cattle, sheep and ducks combined per Judge (note:
number of entries on cattle will be determined by how many cattle are available)
NUMBER OF STOCK /RUN for arena trials: ducks 5/run; sheep 3-5/run; cattle 3-5/run
Sheep are mixed hair and wooly breeds, Cattle are beef, Ducks are cross breds
POLICIES: An official waiting list will be maintained. A draw for run order will be made prior to the trial. Entries
can be withdrawn before the pre-entry date closes. If an owner pulls an entry after the close of entries no refund will
be made unless that space can be filled from the waiting list, except for injured dogs (see entry paragraph above).
Substitution of a dog owned or co-owned by the same owner is allowed. NOTE: Refunds will take time. Bitches in
season shall run in order. Bitches in heat will be contained away from trial the area until their run. NOTE: Other
breeds wishing to compete for ASCA titles must have an ASCA tracking number. This number can be applied for
day of trial. Replacement cost for cattle: market value, sheep: $200/head, ducks: $25 per head.
JUNIOR SHOWMANSHIP and CONFORMATION
Order of classes-Juniors, Non-regular, Altered & Intact.

Junior Classes: Non Reg-PeeWee (3-5 years old), Sub-Junior (6-7 years old);
Regular: Novice & Open, to be divided by ages: 8-12 years & 13-17 years
NOTE: Juniors may compete with any breed; however for ASCA points in the merit programs, the dog must be an
Australian Shepherd and must meet ASCA Junior ownership requirements (rule book available at www.asca.org)
Conformation Classes (to be divided by sex):
Non-Regular: 2-4 month, 4-6 month
Altered & Intact: 6-9 mth, 9-12 mth, 12-15 mth, 15-18 mth, Novice, American Bred, Bred by Exhibitor,
Open Blue Merle, Open Red Merle, Open Black, Open Red, Best of Breed.
NOTE: ALL Australian Shepherds MUST have an individual ASCA registration number to compete, except
non-regular puppies, who MUST BE ELIGIBLE for ASCA registration.
OBEDIENCE

Obedience classes: Please note, we will not have Utility classes
Open A & B, ODX A & B, Novice A & B, Beginner Novice, Sub-Novice. Group exercises will be held before
Open starts; Open A & B and Novice A & B group exercises may be combined.
Obedience entries will be limited to a daily judging limit of 8 hours.
NOTE: Only regular classes are eligible for High Score Awards. Bitches in season will not be allowed to compete in
obedience. Upon verification of being in heat by a veterinarian or the Obedience Committee, the entry fee will be
refunded if wished. All breeds may compete, however, they are required to have an ASCA Tracking Number. This
number may be applied for at the show. Owners/Handlers entering Novice who have titled a dog in any registry in
Novice must enter Novice B. Any dog entering Novice, ODX or Open who has earned a CD or CDX in any registry
must enter Novice B or Open B, as appropriate.
AWARDS: Ribbons 1st thru 4th place.

Most Versatile Australian Shepherd: This award is given to the Australian Shepherd who earns the most points in
events Friday, Saturday or Sunday by: Obtaining 70% of the available points in the conformation evaluation class,
attaining a qualifying score in regular obedience, and a qualifying score in a Started, Open or Advanced Stockdog
trial class. If no dog qualifies, no award will be given. The rules are contained in the ASC of Washington ROM
rules.

Most Versatile Junior: This award is given to the Junior who has earned the most points in events Friday,
Saturday or Sunday by: Showmanship class placements, attaining a qualifying score in regular obedience, and a
qualifying score in a Started, Open or Advanced Stockdog trial class. If no Junior qualifies, no award will be given.

Directions to PackLeader Farm
From North or South I-5 to Hwy 16 in Tacoma. Hwy 16 begins at I-5 and
travels toward Bremerton.
• Take Hwy 16 past Gig Harbor. Exit at sign for Hwy 302W (Purdy/Shelton).
• Follow exit road into Purdy to the traffic light
• Turn left at signal following sign for Hwy 302W (Shelton/Key Center) -- you will cross the Wauna Bridge.
• Continue to follow Hwy 302W (NOTE: At some point along here you will likely lose cell phone service.)
• Turn right (turn lane-right turn only) onto Elgin-Clifton Rd following sign for Hwy 302W (Shelton/Allyn)
• Turn right onto 150th. Intersection well marked with signs prior to and at corner.
• Turn left on 1st gravel road. No street sign, but marked with a large sign on left that says Rocky Creek
Conservation Area”.
• Follow road through the park. When you exit the trees, there will be a green farm gate directly in front of you
which is the entrance to the facility.
