Information about the issue

VIBE magazine – my inspiration

‘VIBE’ music magazine followed a typical house-style for their magazine covers and used simple but classic methods to engage and sustain audience attention. - Clear Masthead including many occasions where the artist being

featured on the cover would deliberately be placed in position where their head would cover up a small part of the title. This technique was designed to make the consumers and followers feel inclusive… almost as part of a club.- Bright, bold, colours and fonts - Text never covering up the artists on the cover, or placed in an area that

would distract them

Front Cover (Draft 2)

Here is my second music magazine front cover for ‘Renegade’. This cover is different because my talent is looking directly at the camera and the tag & sell lines are much clearer here, than in the first cover I produced.

I have also ensured that the numbers and symbols are much clearer and easier to read.

In my personal opinion, as a consumer of the text, I feel that the cover itself is more coordinated and organised than my previous cover too.

In the next slide I will be portraying the ways in which I addressed the audience directly in relation to this cover…

InformativeWhen creating this magazine I ensured that the date and issue number were clear for the consumer. One thing that I learnt when analysing music magazines such as ‘VIBE’ was the lack of information provided on the cover – I found some editions with no date or issue number on the cover – making the consumer question the relevance of the magazine

Descriptive language – I ensured that the dramatic and popular names of artists stood out the most. For example the word ‘LOSING’ creates a sense of drama – creating the urge for the reader to find out more.

Rule of 3- Easy to remember for audience, could be what they associate the magazine with and is an embedded description of the TA
