2. What arehormones ?
- Hormones are chemical messengers that travel through a person's
body.
3. These molecules secrete into the extracellular fluid,
circulate in the blood or hemolymph, and communicate regulatory
messages throughout the body. 4. Hormonal Processes
- Hormones tend to work slowly but have great impacts on the
body.There are many different processes in which hormones may
affect the human body:
5. Metabolism(how your body obtains energy from foods you
consume) 6. Sexual function 7. Reproduction 8. Mood 9. Hormones and
the Endocrine Glands
- Endocrine glands, which are special groups of cells, make
hormones. The major endocrine glands are the pituitary, pineal,
thymus, thyroid, adrenal glands and pancreas. In addition, men
produce hormones in their testes and women produce them in their
ovaries.
