ProjectAmericanCoatingTechnologiesLLCreceivedacallfromtheBuckeyeterminalonaFridaymorning.TheterminalmanagerexplainedtheyhaveasecondarycontainmentattheterminalthatwasinspectedbyDepartmentofEnvironmentalConservationandtheyindicatedthatitdidnotmeetthecurrentstandard.

ArepresentativeofAmericanCoatingTechnologieswentdirectlytotheterminal,andinspectedthesecondarycontainment.Wecontactedtheterminalandsuppliedaproposal.Adecisionwasmadethatdaytouseourservices.OurinstallationcrewsarrivedonMonday.

Thisterminalhadaclaybasethatdidnotsealtighttothetank,piping,stairsandthedrain.Thisisthebiggestproblemwiththeseoldcontainments.Theclaywascoveredby6to8inchesofstoneandinordertorepairthislinerallofthestoneandclayneededtoberemovedataCOSTof$100persquarefoot.Theestimatedrepairareawas100squarefeet,butagainitwasnotpossibletodeterminetheextentofthedamageuntilrepairsstartandtherewasnowarranty.

SolutionAmericanCoatingTechnologiesinstalledapolyureaseamlesslinersystemovertheentiresecondarycontainmentarea(15,000sq.ft.)infivedaysatacostof$3.78persquarefoot.Thissystemcamewithacomplete10-yearwarrantyforboththelinermaterialandallthelaborrequiredforanyrepair.
