Highlights: Follow the Hadrian’s Wall Path National Trail along the line of the Wall as far east or west as you like, then catch the bus back from one of the intervening stops at the Milecastle Inn or The Sill.

A Stroll to Thirlwall Castle

Distance: 1.75 milesTime: 1 - 2 hours
Highlights: The route follows the Hadrian’s Wall National Trail to Thirlwall Castle and then follows the Tipalt Burn to the village of Greenhead, where you could stop for a coffee. You then head back up hill via the Roman Army Museum.
