A Place Called Homeby Luke Thomas

When I was young, my mom and I moved a lot. I

didn’t like it because I could never keep any of

my friends.This is my story.

I was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. We lived in

a house with my mom, dad and sister.

To be closer to my grandparents, we moved

to Richmond, Virginia.

We moved a lot, and it was hard on the whole family.

When I was still very young, we moved to Rhode Island for

about a year.I do not remember much about this place because I

was very young.

When I started kindergarten, we moved to Ohio. We then moved back and forth between Beaver Falls, PA and Ohio for the rest of my kindergarten and first grade

school year. I made some friends, then we moved.

In second grade, we lived in three different places, and I went to three different schools in Pennsylvania.

The three places I lived were Freedom, Baden and Ambridge. I

made some friends, then we moved again-UGH!

When I was in the third grade, I went to Conway, and then I moved to Freedom in the middle of my school year. I made

some friends, then we moved again.

Then we moved to New Brighton, PA. I still went to Freedom School in the fourth grade. I finished my school year here. My

family decided to move to Beaver Falls, PA, and I finished my fifth grade there. I made some friends, then we moved

again.

It is my sixth grade year, and we moved back to New Brighton, PA.I lived there from my sixth grade

year to half of my ninth grade year. I made some friends, then

we moved again.

For the rest of my ninth grade year, I moved to New Castle, PA and I attended Shenango Area

School District. Next, I attended the New Castle Area School

District for three months and then I returned to Shenango. I made some friends, then we

moved again.

In 2012, I lived in New Brighton again. I got special permission to attend Lawrence County Career and

Technical Center (LCCTC). Then (yes, you guessed it!) I moved again to Beaver Falls, and I finished my

tenth grade year there. I spent two months of my 2013 school year in Beaver Falls. Now, for my

eleventh school year, I moved to New Castle, and I attend LCCTC.

I made a lot of friends, and we may move again, but I can stay at LCCTC because students of all eight

school districts are here.
