It is an inner realisation.

A graça do céu não desce a esmo.

Tem que ser merecida.

Grace does not descend from

heaven at random. It has to

be earned.

A melhor caridade não é a que se faz por substitutos.

Cabe-nos executá-la por nós mesmos.

The best charity is not that which is

done by substitutes. We must perform it

ourselves.

A fortaleza moral não é produto de

rogos alheios. Provém do esforço na

resistência para o bem.

Moral strength is not the result of others pleading for us. It comes from our own

effort to take a stand on the side

of goodness.

A esperança fiel não se nos fixa no coração através

de simples contágio.

Steadfast hope does not dwell

firmly in our hearts by mere

contagion.

É fruto de compreensão

mais alta.

It is the offspring of higher

understanding.

O verdadeiro amor não nasce das sombras do desejo. É fonte

cristalina e inexaurível do

espírito eterno.

Real love is not born from the

shadows of desire. It is a crystalline

and inexhaustible fountain of the eternal spirit.

O conhecimento real não é

construção de alguns dias. É obra

do tempo.

True knowledge is not the

achievement of but a few days. It

is the work of time.

O paraíso jamais será adquirido

pela sagacidade da compra. É atingível pela

nossa boa-vontade em fugir ao purgatório ou

ao inferno da própria

consciência.

Paradise will never be acquired by

astute bargaining. It is attainable

through our good will in avoiding the burgatory or hell

of our own conscience.

A proteção da Esfera Superior é

inegável para todos nós que

ainda nos movimentamos na sombra. Ai de nós,

todavia, se não procurarmos as

bençãos da luz!...

The protection received from the Higher Planes is an

unquestionable fact for all of us who still move

within the shadows. Woe to us, however, if we

do not seek the belssings of

enlightenment.
