By 1st January 2013 the BKK and BKV Zrt. pulled the old ZIU-9 type sowiet trolleybuses from daily service.

• Reconstruction of the 412er, 435er types

• On the trolleybus network alltogether increase of the passanger capacity by 2 %

• However, we still have several dozens of trolleybuses 2which are older than 20 years remaining in service.

More and more vehicles out of service due to brake in frame.Due to aging of the the fleet and lack of reconstructions increased number of trolleybuses stand with main frame problems.

New examination procedures

The trolleybuses' examinations must be done since 1st January 2013.

The first examinations must be carried through by 31st December 2012.

Examinations of trolleybuses

BKV Zrt. allocated significant money (several millions HUFs), in order to fulfill its duty to make the first examinations of all trolleybuses by the end of 2012.We do the examinations in cooperation with the National Transport Authority.

The examinations of the worn down trolleybuses must be preceded by reconstructions. It is done by own company resources of the trolleybus division, as well as by the partnership of VJSZ Kft (which is in BKV's intrest), and only in necessary scale outsourced to external companies, like IK Járműtechnika Kft. in Székesfehérvár..

Examinations of trolleybuses

By this day (2013.01.22.) 119 trolleybuses received their first examinations.

• IK-280.94 84/75, • IK-411 1/1, • Ik -412 15/15, • Ik-435.81 15/5, • GST-12A 16/16, • MAN 15/7

15 used trolleys = 2 new!!!!

Future plans1) Network point of view: It is not suited to view the trolleybus

network as itself, but as a part of Budapest's public transport network's development.

Major reshaping of the network and development is not real in current economic state..

Smaller scale extensions, connections are possible.

2) Vehicle fleet: Currently the fleet ofBKV Zrt. is 146

trolleybuses (32 solo/114 articulated) Within our plans is the purchase of

new trolleybuses (14 solo/10 articulated). Emphasis on solo cars in order to have a ratio of vehicles for better passenger service.
