NOTES : 1. THIS LIST COVERS THE INSTRUMENTS FOR MONITORING, CONTROL.
PROTECTION, AUTOMATIC TURBINE TESTING SYSTEM OF STEAM TURBINES INCLUDING ITS VALVES, BEARINGS, LUBE & CONTROL OIL SYSTEM, GLAND SEAL STEAM SYSTEM (DOWN FROM STEAM SUPPLY/ LEAK OFF CONTROL VALVES) AND LP BYPASS SYSTEM.
2. FOR SENSORS AND TRANSMITTERS (BOTH ANALOG AND BINARY) IN BHEL’S
SCOPE OF SUPPLY AS PER THIS LIST, JUNCTION BOXES/THERMOSTATS WILL BE SUPLIED TO BE MOUNTED NEAR/ON EQUIPMENT.
3. PRESSURE TRANSMITTERS, GAUGES & SWITCHES WILL BE MOUNTED ON
RACKS TO BE INSTALLED NEAR EQUIPMENT. IMPULSE PIPING AND ROOT/INSTRUMENT VALVES FOR THESE PRESSURE TRANSMITTERS/SWITCHES AND FOR THE PRESSURE GAUGES ARE INCLUDED IN THE SCOPE OF SUPPLY.
4. THE PIPELINE SUPPLIER SHALL PROVIDE TEMPERATURE STUBS AS PER THE
DIMENSION TO BE GIVEN BY BHEL ( HW ) AND PRESSURE BOSSES WITH ISOLATING VALVES FOR BHEL’S PRIMARY INSTRUMENTS APPEARING ON VARIOUS PIPELINES.
5. THE TWO ELEMENTS OF A TEMPERATURE SENSOR HAVE BEEN
DIFFERENTIATED WITH LETTER ‘A’ & ‘B’ IN THE TAG NO. OF THE TEMPERATURE SENSOR.
EXAMPLE : LBA10 CT001A---MEANS FIRST ELEMENT LBA10 CT001B---MEANS SECOND ELEMENT LBA10CT001A-BO1-----MEANS CONVERSION OF NON-ELECTRICAL TO ELECT. QTY. IN THE FLOW SCHEME IT IS INDICATED AS LBA10 CT001 BECAUSE MEASURING POINT IS ONE. 6. 0% POSITION = CLOSE = OFF = TEST POSITION 100% POSITION = OPEN = ON = WORKING POSITION 7. SCOPE OF SUPPLY OF RECORDERS SHALL BE AS INDICATED IN THE DRG.
TITLED ‘RECORDER LIST’. 8. SCOPE OF SUPPLY OF INDICATORS SHALL BE AS INDICATED IN THE DRG.
TITLED ‘INDICATOR LIST’. 9. ALL PRIMARY INSTRUMENTS AS PER THIS LIST ARE IN BHEL SCOPE OF
SUPPLY. 10. FOR POINTS AGAINST WHICH ‘MIS’ IS SHOWN IN THE RECORDER COLUMN,
LONG TERM ARCHIVING IS TO BE DONE IN MIS AND NO SEPARATE RECORDER IS PROVIDED BY BHEL FOR THESE PARAMETERS.

11. FOR POINTS AGAINST WHICH MMI IS SHOWN IN INDICATOR COLUMN,
INDICATION WILL BE AVAILABLE ON BHEL’S MMI CRT AND SEPARATE CONVENTIONAL INDICATOR IS NOT PROVIDED.
12. FOR MEASUREMENT OF MAIN OIL TANK LEVEL, CONTROL FLUID TANK
LEVEL, CONDENSER VACUUM, LUB OIL PRESSURE AND LP INLET STEAM PRESSURE THREE TRANSMITTERS EACH ARE PROVIDED. THE OUTPUT OF THESE THREE TRANSMITTERS WILL BE FED TO SEPARATE INPUT MODULES AND THEN THERE WILL BE A SELECTION CIRCUIT AND THE FINAL OUTPUT FROM THE SELECTION CIRCUIT WILL BE TREATED AS THE MEASURED ANALOG VALUE OF THE RESPECTIVE PARAMETERS. THE HEALTHINESS OF THE INPUT CHANNELS WILL BE CONTINUOUSLY MONITORED.
NORMALLY THE SELECTION IS 'MEDIAN OF 3'. IN CASE OF FAULT OF ONE CHANNEL, THE FAULTY CHANNEL WILL BE DISCONNECTED FROM THE SELECTION CIRCUIT AND THE SELECTION WILL BE 'MAX OF 2'. SUBSEQUENT FAULT OF ANOTHER CHANNEL WILL CHANGE THE SELECTION TO '1 OF 1'. THESE CHANGES WILL BE SMOOTH AND AUTOMATIC. FAULTS WILL BE SUITABLY ANNUNCIATED ON MMI. ONLY THE PROCESSED SIGNAL (I.E. THE ANALOG OUTPUT OF THE SELECTION CIRCUIT) WILL BE USED FOR ALL REQUIRED APPLICATIONS EXCEPT TRIPPING. HOWEVER IN THIS DOC., ALL THE REQUIRED APPLICATIONS ARE SHOWN AGAINST CHANNEL 1 FOR SIMPLICITY.
13 ALL PRESSURE TRANSMITTERS SHALL BE SMART TYPE WITH DIGITAL OUTPUT IN HART PROTOCOL.
14. ALL BEARING PEDESTAL AND ABSOLUTE SHAFT VIBRATION SIGNALS SHALL
BE ARCHIVED IN REC-MMI.
