DISCUSSION TUTORIALEmbedding your SlideShare Presentation

OVERVIEW

The purpose of this presentation is to provide you with information on how to embed a SlideShare presentation in your discussion posting using Blackboard. I have included a set-by-step set of instructions with supporting graphics on this process. View the presentation and then complete the steps to complete your initial discussion posting.

You should develop your presentation is PowerPoint or another presentation tool. When you have completed the document, go to SlideShare.net, and setup your

account. When have completed the setup, you will be ready to upload your presentation.

From the Home screen in SlideShare, you will see at the right side of the page a link For Uploaders. Click that link to access the Get Started link.

HOW TO BEGIN

From the Get Started page,choose the link for Chapter 2: What to Upload?

GET STARTED

You can view the brief presentation on What to Uploadand when ready click the Start Now button to begin uploading your presentation

WHAT TO UPLOAD

Click the Select files to upload button.

CLICK THE SELECT FILES BUTTON

Select the presentation you createdfor the Discussion Assignment #3which is located on your computerand click the open button.

I am selecting this presentation asan example file in the graphic atthe right.

OPEN THE SELECTED FILE

The file will upload and you shouldcomplete the information on yourpresentation in the provided boxes.

When you are ready, click the publish button. You should choosethe Public Privacy setting.

PUBLISH YOUR PRESENTATION

The published file will be on the screen. Choose the Share button.

SHARE PROCESS

Click the Embed line, the code will highlight. Right-Click, use Control-C or Command-C

to copy the text.

COPY THE EMBED HTML CODE

Access the Discussion Assignment#3 Forum. Click the Create Thread link.

CREATE YOUR THREAD

Provide your Subject as per Assignment #3 Click the HTML link in the tools bar.

ACCESS THE HTML LINK

A window will open. Paste the HTML code you copied from

the SlideShare presentation you made. Click the Update button at the lower

right corner of the window.

PASTE THE HTML CODE

The presentation will appear in your Blackboard post.Add any text along with the embedded presentation.Click submit to post your presentation.
