IMPORTANT: ⦿ Summer School, you are expected to attend. If you choose not to attend, there is no guarantee the class will be
available to you during the school year.
Summer School Eligibility:⦿ 3.0 GPA, first semester, 8th grade, AND ⦿ academically “impacted” schedule next year
● Impacted Schedules: students who wish to take 2 electives create an impacted schedule (Non-academic electives such as: Art, Ceramics, or Videography do not qualify as an impacted schedule)
Mandatory Health Meeting: Information will be mailed home close to the end of the year. If you do not receive information by 06/06/19 contact the Summer School Office (to be posted on district website).
Independent Study Orientation: 6/11/19 or 6/12/19 ** STUDENTS MUST ATTEND ORIENTATION
Independent Study Summer School Sessions:IMPORTANT: Students may indicate a preference for Session 1 or Session 2; however, preferred sessions are not guaranteed.⦿ Session 1: 6/18/19-7/3/19⦿ Session 2: 7/09/19-7/24/19

Science⦿ Integrated Physical Science
(pending college prep approval)Integrated Physical Science is a college preparatory lab-based course that immerses students in the topic areas of Chemistry, Physics, and Earth and Space Sciences. ⦿ Biology:
● B or better in Math 8 or Advanced Math 8 AND
● B or better in Science 8 OR● C or better in Honors Science 8
⦿ Honors Biology: ● A in Math 8 or an A or B in
Advanced Math 8, AND● A in Science 8 or an A or B in
Honors Science 8⦿ Honors Chemistry:
● A or B in Honors Science 8, AND● A or B in Advanced Math 8

World Language⦿ Spanish and French
● 3.0 GPA, 1st semester 8th grade AND ● 3 or 4 on 7th grade ELA SBAC
○ Enrollment based upon space availability○ More space is available in French
⦿ 2 years of World Language is required by the CSU/UC system
⦿ If you don’t meet the prerequisites for World Language this year, it is recommended that you take a Fine Art course to fulfill your one year Fine Art requirement for CSU/UC.
